Connectivity Problems

Received a refurbished unit after the Original Venu 3 just stopped working all together. No display whatsoever. Prior to it totally going blank, it had connectivity issues. It would frequently flash "phone disconnected"..then "phone connected "...back and forth. I just received this refurbished unit 3 days ago and have swam the last 2 days in the pool, it recorded the swim sessions just fine, but this morning the watch went to dim mode and a default clock face was present upon awakening. I had to reset and reconnect. Later this morning I will call customer service and ask for a replacement. My Original unit lasted about 11 months before having any issues. I primarily swim 3-5 times a week, about an hour each time.

Okay, but not as advertised

I really want to love this watch, but I just can't... I can only just like it. It's good enough to keep, but I wouldn't buy it again even at half the price. Cons: * The battery life is NOWHERE near what is advertised. Even without the always-on display, if you track short exercises and your sleep, you'll only get 5-6 days. With the always-on display, you get two days max. Of course, you could put the watch into battery-saving mode and get a longer life... but then what is the sense of having an expensive smartwatch? * VO2 Max is a joke if you aren't a runner. To use it for cycling you need to have EXPENSIVE Garmin bike pedals (i.e. more than the watch costs)! This borders on false advertising! * Sensors are a bit suspect and unpredictable as compared to my cheaper smartwatch from the large search company. * The on-watch Golf app freezes all the time and is useless ... and IF it worked, to get the most out of it you have to buy sensors that cost as much as this watch * $$$$$$ The Garmin ecosystem is WAY too costly. Other fitness-tracking watches are much more reasonably priced with the same features. And if you want to spend a lot of money on a smartwatch, other watches are much more flexible with a similar battery life (using always on display) Pluses: * Like most Garmin watches, it does provide pretty detailed data and analysis. * Tons of add-on apps and watch faces ... though at this price point smartwatches from the world's highest-valued company offer way more features.

Excellent Tracking Watch

Bought a few weeks ago since my FR645M corners broken rendering the watch unwearable. I have to say the screen on this watch is fantastic... Other than the one minor annoyance repeats of daily goal be achieved it's need a toggle for multiple or once ;)

Unbelievable clarity!

I've had multiple Garmin watches, probably 7 total, and have loved them all. I got the Venu 3 because of being able to take calls from the watch but I'm most impressed with the clarity and touch screen. I also like the slimmer look for the office over the fenix. My only complaint is the watch band is short, I'm attach it on the 3rd notch from the end. Overall, another great product!

ALL OVER THE MAP

I find the Garmin Venue 3 watch sleep data to be all over the map. Same with another device not worn on my wrist. I know when I turn in for the night. And all too often both devices have me going to bed hours later...hours...later. Batteries are adequately charged. And both devices are snug against my skin. Also, on a daily basis, the Venu 3 reports a total daily burn of 1920± calories while the other devices reports well over 2500±. HR is accurate against the Polar chest strap. So that's good. But I have endured chronic sleep deprivation for nearly 5 years: I'm 72 years old. Since I've stopped evaluating my body on a daily basis with a plethora of data, my sleep has greatly improved. As my very wise physician/acupunturist said to me, "When you get up, just feel your body. How do you feel?" Smart watches and rings are amazing techno-creatures. But given that the modern human brain is what?...200,000 years in the making, I think it has its own ways of talking to me whenever necessary. All I have to do is be quiet and listen. So off with the watches. So away with these techno-creatures: hello body. Talk to me, please. — Doug

Easy to use but periodically need to setup

Every couple months the watch tells me it doesn't recognize the connection to my phone. I have to scan the QR code and complete the setup as if it was a new purchase. Otherwise, I like the watch. It's pretty easy to use and I love the Golf feature.

Great smartwatch, but the battery life!

Great smartwatch, although I expected more from the battery. I switched from the Apple Watch Series 9 to the Garmin Venu 3, looking for better battery life and improved support for my running and walking routines. However, I’ve noticed that when all the features of the Garmin watch are activated, the battery lasts almost less than the Apple Watch’s. That’s the only downside I can mention about the Garmin Venu 3.

Great so far!

I bought a Venu 3 in early June 2025 and as of this writing (6/22) have been very pleased with its performance. My primary workout and use to date is very brisk walking which it appears to track very accurately. I've also been pleased with its link to my iPhone 16 pro and ability to delivery notifications reliably. To early to give good feedback on battery life overall, however, 7 days or more between charges works for me. I've barely scratched the surface of its capabilities, but so far, so good!

So far so good!

I haven't had this watch long but so far I love it! I upgraded from Instinct Solar, which I also loved. The Venu 3 just has a lot of great features. I wasn't happy that it only came with a type c connector for charging, so I couldn't charge it. I had to get a different cable so I could charge it! Besides that I am really enjoying it.

Needs a few changes ...

I bought this a few weeks ago so: - My HRV needs 3 weeks before it will be useful - There is no data on Sleep Debt as in some other apps - There is no data on Morning Recovery / Readiness / Energy - The Germin Venu 3 watch has 3 switches which are all on one side (right side when worn on left arm - left side when worn on right arm) ... On my Apple Watch the switches 'can be swopped' - The Germin Venu 3 watch cannot be worn too close to the end of the wrist - The MOST PROMINENT switch (of the 3) on The Germin Venu 3 is positioned exactly in THE MIDDLE ... This is often accidentally pressed and it then automatically starts VOICE ASSISTANT !!! This is extremely annoying.
