New purchase

The best

I have my setup for 2yrs now and absolutely love it. No issues everything works great. Anyone that has issues with Swann products, it's probably more personal issues than it Is with their products

Very user friendly

Well packaged and easy to install. I knew running the wires would be work but I did not want a wireless system. Setting up the remote application was a breeze. Pictures are great, sharp and clear. Just what I wanted.

Ltc.

Really like this system. Camera images are excellent quality. However, my cameras heat up real quick and get hot. Not sure if this is normal or not. This system is a keeper for me.

So Far So Good...

System installed & configuration went very well, easy to program. The App works pretty good (opposite of what online reports indicated), easy to configure. Considering the price, this system is good value.

Swann 8 Channel Security System: 5MP Super HD NVR-8580 with 2TB HDD, 4 x 5MP Bullet Cameras & 2 x 5MP Spotlight Cameras

The picture quality is great, I am not sure how the spotlight cameras work yet, and I have not yet gotten the App to connect up to my camera system though my router. I have had swann before and have two camera systems on the same router. This may be the problem, since they both use the same port 9000.

Motion false alarm

False notification a big concern

Love the nvr 8580 security cameras but my concerns are and continues to be the false notification being sent to our phones. I have set the front cameras to 1 min. Adjusted the red digital squares to the areas I want to monitor. But I continue to get false notifications. Yes it Can be a busy street of cars passing by but if I mapped the area with the red squares to monitor. What else needs adjusted. The back yard works great and only picks up if someone is present should have come with a DVD to help explain the more advanced settings.

Awesome cameras. Too bad your domes do not have the same features

Bought this several months ago. Added two dome cameras. I have been calling support about one camera, they keep telling me to try something and call back. Always the same results. One camera freezes s as bout the same time every day or so on my monitor, yet it records like normal and also shows on app like normal. Who can I speak with about this. I have purchased several Swann systems from home to work security. Please help me past this one hurdle. It is not right. Thank you in advance.

The 1080p has better people and vehicle playback.

When reviewing search mode people and vehicle are so pixelated you cannot make out any details. The audio is very choppy and you can only review three cameras at a time in search mode. I have seven cameras so I have to watch three then the next three and then the last one so I'm taking a lot of time to review in search mode. I do have it in continuous recording because it does not detect all movement. This is model NVR8-8580RN. Installation is easy and if there's nothing moving you can see it fairly clear. You cannot pick up fine details such as car tags as stated. My monitor is a 4K monitor so it's compatible with the 4K NVR.

Based on the information provided, you may need to adjust the frame rate on your recorder to help get a better image. The application also has 3 different settings for streaming quality; low, medium and high. If you are having problems streaming you can lower the settings and test to see if it improves. Note that lowering the stream settings does not affect the quality of the recordings. If you have very fast upload speeds you can set your camera to high, but if your upload speed is not that good then we recommend you use medium or low for the streaming setting. Great! NVR8-8580

I've had this system for a couple of years and couldn't be happier. This easy to install but it did take some time to setup the camera's and configure the software. I haven't had any issues with the dvr, one camera stopped recording but after messing with the settings started working, we'll see. I did setup the cameras for lights motion, so the lights go on if motion is sensed. Works great! Other then that it's worked out great for me as it serves its purpose.
