Nice hard wired system replace wifi battery system

Only had it up and running for a few days, but so far am very pleased. I bought this because it was a hard wired system and not wifi. The arlo wifi system I was using seemed to never be online and always out of battery. Also,there was a large lag between the time it detected motion to start recording, it was pretty much worthless. I use this system at the office and set it initially to record on all cameras 24/7, so it is really not monitored, we just use it if there is an incident. To be honest, I had my network guy wire it all in and set up to the network and internet, but the iphone app works fine for monitoring. If the alarm at work goes off we can just look at the app to see if it is a false alarm. Still trying to figure out the push notifications. The interface on the actual NVR is pretty clunky, but it seems like you can fine tune the settings for almost any variable. The video quality is fantastic. One camera went out right away and it only took about two hours with the company before they agreed to send a new one.

It was easy to set up. I like that it has audio. I haven't actually used all the features but I am glad I bought it. Every once in awhile the app doesn't work but that's the only draw back.

Love Sam's Hate Swann

I bought Swann cameras two years ago. They stopped working properly within 3 months and totally within 6. I called Swann and was ignored. I had to call the BBB to get Swann to answer me. They replaced the cameras and out of the box, the new ones didn't work. These are way too expensive to be a book end, and my home and family needed to be protected. I told Sam's corporate and my local store the story, showed them the complaint, etc. SAMS refunded my money. I love Sams and will continue to be a loyal customer. You need to know what you are dealing with - when it comes to Swann. I spent hours on the phone with their customer service to no avail. It was documented in their system they couldn't make my cameras work, but still would do nothing!

Happy with product

Have only had this system a couple of weeks. Followed "Read Me First" instructions and everything worked as it should. Only have two of the four cameras installed so far. I have a 1080 TV but the pictures look very good close to the house. I'm not seeing the detail I was hoping I would get at a distance. A better TV might be needed. I'm still learning how to make adjustments to the NVR menu (100 pages of online instructions to print out) The cat5 cable is an issue. Instructions say don't bend it over 90 degrees. It comes with 180 degree bends every 4 inches. See picture. Looks like it was coiled then mashed down to fit in the box. Hard to straighten out the kinks when running it to the cameras.

Great system

I found the Cat5e wiring was too flimsy and was not sure if it was UV protected. I bought 500' of cable and connectors and installed the cams. These new connectors use all 8 wires for future updates compared to the cable in the box using 3 wires. They work awesome. Just wish they had a wider angle other than 93d. Operating instructions are confusing with over 100 pages.

System works very well but questionable durability after 9 months

I bought this system back in 11/2019 and the system worked very well until last couple of months. I had 2 out of 4 camera failures, one camera got water condensation inside the lens and the second camera just stopped working completely overnight. I am working with Swann to exchange defective equipment under warranty but it is installed on my second home abroad which makes it very difficult to troubleshoot and exchange hardware. I am quite concerned on how reliable it is and how long will it at last after warranty expires.
