I bought this specific brand trashcan the first time at Costco a couple years ago. Since having it I can't imagine living without one in our kitchen. I have two young kids and having this handsfree trashcan helps with keeping hygiene for me (I'm a germ phobe) and them. It's also definitely not an eye sore to have out, keeps with a modern/clean decor. The batteries last very long as I don't even remember changing it in the two yrs with the 1st one. Anyway, in case you are wondering it broke only because I dropped the heavy lid one too many times that the "flap" cracked and detached itself, rendering itself useless as "automatic". Costco does not carry it anymore as they've rotated to carrying another brand. I'm glad to have found it at Walmart for a reasonable price. Since receiving it, only had one minor glitch (in the beginning)---the automatic lid flap opened only half way. I thought I had a dud and would have to go through the hassel of returning. I called the helpline and the associate said it only needed to be "resetted". I don't know how exactly, but after 3-4 days, it corrected itself and started functioning correctly. Since then, no problems. Again, I highly recommend this product. You won't regret it and will never go back to a regular kitchen trashcan.

We purchased this product almost a month ago and so far no complaints. It works great, we were really happy with the size and amount of trash it holds. The auto open and close is a nice feature no one forgets to close the lid which means less trash odor. It is well made and I expect it will last for years. As for the battery life which was a problem for one reviewer we don't really know yet, but if I need to buy batteries every couple of months I think it's worth it for the convenience of the auto open and close. Over all a great product for the price.

I bought this on Black Friday. It was a great deal. Site to Store was fast and simple. Love the trash can. Looks great and fits perfectly where it is placed. Very visually obvious where placed so it had to have a good appearance. The shape of the can is great. It really utilizes the entire trash bag instead of losing the corner space as in a square can. Motion sensor works great and is super quiet. Only problem I can see is due to the trash bag getting really full and sticking when you try to pull it out. Bottom part of can fell over and immediately dented. Small but annoying. Luckily it was on the backside of the can. If you have an active household, such as small children, not sure how long it would last. It's about as thin as a cheap office wastebin. Other than that we love it!

the best trash can I have ever had, its very nice and looks durable, looks much expensive than what it is, and it fits lots of trash due to its oval shape. the sensor its very sensitive so when we walk by it opens, but that's an issue of placement I guess. batteries don't last long, about 2 weeks. but I couldn't be happier with it!!! I have bought a similar trash can before, that I paid $100 for and doesn't compare tot his one...

The 13 gallon Nine Star slim trash can with motion sensor has been a great purchase, so far (it has only been a month). It arrived a week before the scheduled delivery date, the packaging was AWESOME (custom fitted with styrofoam inside the can as well as outside the can in the box to prevent shipping damage), it has performed flawlessly to date and is compact enough in size to not overwhelm our small kitchen. Even my husband likes it and it took me six months of convincing him to let me try it out!

I never thought I would spend more than 10 bucks to buy a trash can. Yes, I thought a trash can is the trash can. But I'm in love with this! It's totally touch- less and work very fast as soon as my hand goes close to the sensor. And the design is so beautiful and you can save space in your busy kitchen. And Walmart was the cheapest place I could find.

Our dog kept getting into our old foot-pedal trash can, so I bought this as a replacement. I was excited about the upgrade, but the sensor has stopped working after a month. I have tried replacing the batteries, wiping the sensor and resetting the lid. The manual open and close buttons still work, but are rather inconvenient.

we've only had this for 2 months, but so far so good....the motion sensor works great so you never have to touch the can itself. It cleans great and has a liner that you tuck the trashbag (it takes normal trashbags, you don't have to buy special ones)into so you don't see it hanging over the rim at all. it takes 4 D batteries and we haven't had to replace them yet. once and a great while it opens on its own, so we joke that its haunted :0) Its looks great in our newly renovated kitchen and I highly reccomend it!

I love this addition to my kitchen. The looks of this product add style and cleanliness to my other SS appliances. Large capacity and ease of use make it an otherwise neccessary object a joy to have around. Easy to keep clean and change bags. Got a great deal around Thanksgiving and site to store shipping I will buy another next year.
