Ok, so I'm still pretty impressed with this trash can and I've had it about a month. I guess it makes me feel "cool" to own it.. sad I know, but everyone who comes over thinks it's neat. Anyway, I got it at a GREAT price on walmart.com vs the prices for the same or similar trashcans at the actual walmart store and or competitors (Target, Bed,Bath&Beyond, Home Depot, HomeGoods, etc.). Most were $40+ more for the same size/features. I remember reading other reviews saying this wasn't very durable. I could see how it could be dented, but I am single, have no animals or kids so I don't see it getting dented easily. Appearance wise - it's nice, but come on, it's a trashcan, so I rated it 4 stars. lol Hope this is helpful.

Bought this trash can in Feb 2020. Batteries needed replaced in Dec. Now the unit won't work. Contacted company. I'm to contact them in Feb 2020 to see if they have any replacement tops back in stock. I did everything the company said to do to reset functions. Didn't work. Now the lid stays open half way. I have no idea when or if we'll get a replacement lid. I'm supposed to send the inoperable lid back to company at my expense. Unit worked fine until batteries needed replaced. Right now, I wouldn't recommend this trash can.

I've had this trash can since 2008 or 2009. The battery life is awesome. I've used regular batteries and rechargeable batteries in it with no problems. I've also washed it several times inside and out to include the lid. It's held up no issues until this past year. The open button cracked off and no longer works, but the sensor still works and will open that way. I try not to get the battery area wet when cleaning but have several times.. Each time I have, the lid just opens and closes on its own until it dries out. Once that happens everything functions normally again. I'm set to buy a new shiny one now. Best investment EVER!

After many fights about lid on or lid off with my boyfriend and roommate, I purchased this and it exceeded my expectations. The only SLIGHT problem, which is related to improper usage & shouldn't affect someone's purchasing decision, is that if it gets too wet (ex. paring 5 pounds of strawberries next to the sink) then it will not respond properly for a period of time as it recovers, but then it bounces back perfectly. I love how it looks. It always impresses people when they come over. Since I purchased it, (1.5 months ago) I have not had to replace the 3 C batteries used to operate it. For $35, mine also came with an automatic soap dispenser and I love that too--way better than the Lysol dispensers we were using since you can fill up with any brand of soap you choose. Easy to clean, very easy to use, I recommend this to everyone!

I have had one of these trash cans for a couple years and I purchased this one as a gift. I have not had one problem with it and the fact that it's motion sensor allows me to have my hands full and still get the lid up without touching the trash can. This is a real plus. It also seals tightly so there is no odor. Well worth it.

If anyone has priced stainless steel trash cans you know how over priced they are. This can looks great, is the perfect size, and I do love the automatic lid. I don't have to worry about leaving it open. It works exactly as it's supposed to. I love the ring around the top that holds the bag secure also. This was a great buy!

This was such an awesome choice in trash cans. There is no getting food on your walls or trash can from people tossing their trash because you have to stand over the trash can to open it and put your trash in. My hubby is very pleased with the amount of trash that it actually holds (full bag of trash), and the lid that holds the bag in place is awesome. I'm ordering another one!!!!

I have been using this trash can for a couple months now and it is just so great. Every thing is working very perfect! the design makes my kitchen look very elegant. The body of the can where the base is smaller and top is wide helps alot when removing trash, (i came across a couple cans that I had to fight the can just to remove the trash bag and many times it tears on me). This can is different! I love it!

I bought the 13 gallon model WM-50-13 at Walmart and have had about 6 months. I changed the batteries once after 3 months, and it was fine after that. It started slowing a bit, so I changed the batteries today. Now the sensor won't work. I double-checked to make sure I had the batteries secure and in the right position, and I did a light wipe (not wet) to make sure everything was clean. The lid goes up and down manually but sensor will not work. I tried calling and was put on hold, then cut off by Ninestars. Not very pleased.

This garbage can had a great look and seemed as though it was manufactured well, but it was just too slow to respond when I needed it to open. It was also too high to go next to my cabinets and I could not open the utensil drawer and had no where else to put it, so I will be returning it for a lower profile foot operated can.
