RUGGED TRAIL T/A ten ply

I purchased a used truck a few years back with these tires (brand new) on it. The manufacture date on the tires show that they are now five years old. They are ten ply tires with prob half the tread remaining at this point. With in the last month both front tires have suddenly blown out. Both times they caused extensive damage to my vehicle. both front fenders and inner fenders are toast. The first blow out ripped out my abs wiring and toar up my running board. Boath tires were in good visible condition and I have always maintained proper tire pressure. I would not recommend buying these tires and am going to replace the rear four tires as soon as I can afford to do so.....

rugged trail t/a

these came on my pick up and have 55,000 so far and have little life left. they seem to hold up and work good but they have little cracks started after been on for three years . but they don't leak air or doesn't bother performance. I put new on back and havent cracked yet maybe after four years they crack because it was new and probably was on the truck a few month s before I bought them even though it was bran new truck

Quiet & Reliable

These tires came on 2004 F-250 Super Duty when I purchased new.... 13 years later & 58,600 miles there is half tread left but have developed sidewall issues : *** small "slits" / cracking and air leakage in 1 of 4 Is this normal wear ? .... vehicle has always been garaged when not in use .... tires are Quiet on highway usage and Reliable in snow when needed... overall I've been satisfied with the rugged trail T/A experience

Do not buy

I am a contractor and drive in many condition. These tire handle fine on the highway. However they are about worthless in any other condition. In snow, mud or wet grass they do not have any traction. The tread fills up and you have slicks. I am not impressed with the tread life. I have had these on two vehicles booth dodge 2500. One was a diesel and the other gas. Booth trucks had worn tires within 15,000 miles and needed to be replaced. That was with rotating them every time oil was changed. Every 4 to 5 thousand miles. I you plan on driving in any condition other than highway chose another tire. I don't expect great wear with a 2500 series truck but i have had much better luck with other brand tires.

Work well for the intended purpose

These are the OEM tires for my 2007 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 Crew Cab. Some reviewers don't like these tires for off-road, deep snow, or mud. These tires are not designed as true off-road tires, BF Goodrich makes other tires better suited for those applications. This on-road tire is a compromise for occasional off-road use and if you understand that, they are good tires. I have a very steep 200 ft. driveway since my house is on a hill in the mountains and even in over 12 inches of snow I haven't been stopped. This past week during hunting season I had to drive off-road to retrieve a deer and had no problems. If you don't know how to drive in snow or off-road there isn't a tire made that will help you. These tires are very quiet compared to off-road tires and wear is respectable. I'm getting over 35,000 miles a set, primarily on-road miles.

great tire

Just put LT285 75 16 Rugged terrains on my 1999 Jeep Wrangler, good looking tire that is Quiet and works well in rain, daily driver in southern FL. will be adding P285 70 17 's to my 2013 wrangler when the originals wear out. This has been a great tire and is lighter than most others. Glad BF Goodrich offers a tire like this rather than the standard heavy truck LT tire.

Great tread life on a dually

I'm on my second set of these for my 2017 F350 DRW. These replaced the factory tires that were underwhelming to say the least. The steers lasted about 70k miles, and the drives gave nearly 85k miles. The truck spends 90%+ of its life with a 20k lb. gooseneck trailer hooked to the back of it, much of that off paved roads, and some of the off road is severe. I have about 30k on the second set of steers and about 15k on the drives, and they're wearing great.

3 sets over 80k mi each

Had a 2005 F150 drove for 6 years 242,000 miles. Original BFG Rugged Trails went 84k miles and liked them so well bought 2 more sets with the 3rd set still on them when I traded the truck. Bought a 2011 F150 with OEM 275-65-18 tires and may get 70k if lucky. Tossing back and forth between Rugged Trail and another well known brand....biggest toss up isn't price, its the ride, low noise, look and the OWL style. I think they will look good on a white truck.

Weather cracks on sidewall

I bought my 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Mega Cab Turbo Diesel truck in November 2012. I like the tires but they seem to be weathering a lot on the sidewalls. They still have plenty of tread left but I am not sure they will last anouther 10,000 miles. I have put about 25000 miles on them (highway mostly). I am taking anouther trip to Arizona next month. The tire is a great tire but I just wonder if this was a bad batch... I am probably going to have to get a new set before my trip.

Great tires for tread life

These are the best tires I have ever owned for tread life. I am 61 years old, have owned a lot of tires my Friends. I Bought a new 2008 Ford F-150 4x4 with these tires installed. I now have 80,000 miles on them!! Had no issues in the snow here in Washington state. I have never had a flat either. I am now retired and travel to Florida in the Winter and drive back and forth. My view of these tires is very good, yes I recommend them.
