RUGGED TRAIL T/A ten ply

I purchased a used truck a few years back with these tires (brand new) on it. The manufacture date on the tires show that they are now five years old. They are ten ply tires with prob half the tread remaining at this point. With in the last month both front tires have suddenly blown out. Both times they caused extensive damage to my vehicle. both front fenders and inner fenders are toast. The first blow out ripped out my abs wiring and toar up my running board. Boath tires were in good visible condition and I have always maintained proper tire pressure. I would not recommend buying these tires and am going to replace the rear four tires as soon as I can afford to do so.....

Great tire low treadlife

This tire came on my 2012 F-350 4x4 dually. I've towed my 20K lb camper more than 13K miles and driven unloaded more than 20k miles. The tires handle excellent on wet, dry, snow and dirt. I have not been on ice or mud. They dig in sand. I am very pleased with the tires, but I am currently searching for a new set as they are completely worn out. Tires are worn pretty evenly and have had normal rotations.

Best averal tire

I drive a 2003 Ram 2500 crew cab, it now has 216000 miles on it, this truck had these tires on it when i purchased it new in late 2002, replaced them at 110000 miles and i am now looking for another set. there is plenty of tire left on the rear but my shocks are bad up front (original shocks) so i need 2 new tires, most likely i will purchase 4., I pull a utility trailers and a Boat/trailer with this truck, cant say enough good things about these tires.

This tire is a proven tire for its use

These tires come standed on my truck, the tread ware was excellent, I changed them out at 65000 miles only because of weather cracking, I think they would have gone another ten thousand miles, I would have bought the same tire but the price killed it for me, I put another brand on and I am not happy with them.

not for snow

I use these tires for Ice fishing and commuting to and from work on a 2007 dbl cab 4x4 tacoma in the colder months. They look nice have nice white letters on the side, quiet and smooth on the road. These tires come from a manufacturer that makes great tires ie. radial ta's. The bad- From day one they were dangerous in snow. The tread fill up with snow and you have slicks. So if there is any snow on the ground I am in 4 wheel drive. I get stuck in 4 inches of snow on flat asphault without 4wd often. My ABS gets a workout if there is snow. Stopping distances are really really long. Second dry rot is common on these tires in the tread area it doesn't hurt anything but cosmetically I don't like it. I have 35000 miles on them and have 1/8" tread remaining. They have worn evenly with regular rotations and dry traction remains fine. These tires would be fine in a san diego type climate.

Poor tread life

I purchased these tires from a local store after trying to get a different set that were discontinued or back ordered. I originally tried to buy the all-terrains because I've heard nothing but good things about them. When I ordered them I went into the store to get them put on and after they were mounted and I was told my truck was ready, I approached my vehicle and noticed that they weren't what I ordered. The dealer had told me that they weren't currently in stock in that these were the best tires that BFGoodrich makes. Because my truck was already two weeks passed inspection I said whatever and just decided I would deal with it since the BF Goodrich name has always been so good. Within a year of normal small City driving my tires are completely bald. I've been driving on them for the last 6 months because that $1,000 a set, I can't just go out and buy new tires. I currently have a decent amount of money saved up and will be buying a different brand. I am very disappointed in these tires. After being a driver for 20 years, these are by far the worst tires that I've ever had. That title was previously labeled to the tires that came on this truck but these have surpassed it by far. The store that I purchased these tires from had closed about a month after I bought them. Therefore there was nobody to honor a warranty.

Worst wearing tire I have ever owned

The stock 265/75 R16 BF Goodrich Rugged Trail 114T that came new on my Nissan Frontier Nismo are the fastest wearing tires I have ever owned. My vehicle sits in the garage when not in use so the tires even stay nice and dry when not in use. I currently have 27000 miles on them and they are already almost bald. Also I'm 54 years old and a very conservative driver so if they wear fast the way I use them I promise you they will wear fast for you also.

FANTASTIC!!!!!!

These tires are AWESOME!!!!! I have 2009 Ford F-150 SuperCab 4x4 that has turned over 406,000 miles that I use for work as a Project Manager for a precast concrete company. 90% of my traveling for work is on the highway running 60 to 75 mph. The factory tires went to 67,000+, then I put a set of BFGoodrich Rugged Trail T/A tires on to give them a try. With the large amount of traveling that I do I needed an excellent set of tires that could live up to a lot of miles all year round. I found that with the Rugged Trail T/As. The first set on the truck I ran to 157,000+ miles. Still had good tread, but the sidewalls started having cracking that made me want to replace them which I went back with the Rugged Trail due to the excellent life I got out of the first ones. The second set of Rugged Trails I ran to 181,000+ miles. Once again, the tires still had good tread on them, I changed them due to the sidewalls having cracking. My mechanic said I could have probably ran them another 50,000 and they would have been fine because the cracking was only the outer layer of rubber from the heat of the pavement in the summer time, but being I'm out of town the biggest part of my time I told him to go ahead and change them. The third set of BFGoodrich Rugged Trail T/As went on my truck a week ago. I have had outstanding service with these tires and as long as BFG is selling them I'm going to keep buying them without a second thought. I rotate my tires every single oil change (6,000,7,000 miles) and check the air pressure on a regular basis. I've never had an issue with cupping or uneven wear on either set I have had on my truck and in matter fact, my mechanic took the 181,000+ tires home with him since they were still in good enough shape that they could be put on a truck for someone that may not have the cash for a new set at the time. Excellent job BFG. It has been a long time since I have came across a product that is actually 100% worth the money that a customer pays for it.

Worked great, but wore out really fast.

My 2015 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road came with Rugged Trail T/A 265/70R16 tires. They worked really well for the first two years or so, but then started to wear down really fast. I'm at 36,000 miles and they are completely smoked. They're pretty close to the wear bar already. To be fair, I put 'em through their paces with a mixture of long highway trips and off-road fun (mostly on rocky terrain in Colorado and rock/sand in Utah).

Rugged Trail TAs

My Nissan Titan Pro4 X truck came with these tires in 2008 and I just put my second pair on the truck. The handling, low road noise, long wear, and dependability make them worth much more than I paid for them. If this set lasts as good as the other I will never have anything else on my trucks from here on out.
