We absolutely love our. A little louder then my father in laws honda but mine runs everything I need and more, my wife and I love the remote start. I don't have to put pants on in the middle of the night if I need to crank it up for anything. I love that I run off propane. A little more expensive then gas but it's less wear and tear and it's easy enough to keep a few tanks topped off and not worry about dumping gas trying to fill it up. Plus my wife can transfer propane tanks in her car without it smelling like a gas can for a week.

Formerly living in hurricane alley, I have had more experience with temporarily living off the grid than most. One of the big lessons I have learned is that gasoline/diesel are impossible to find. But, you can find propane! And propane lasts forever. So I wanted the best of both worlds and this is it. We recently moved to central Virginia, where the need for emergency power made a paradigm shift. Air conditioning is not on the top of the list anymore, since most power interruptions occur in the winter here. The need for heat (powered by propane) and safe keeping of food are now at the top of the list. This let me get a smaller generator (previously had a 10K). Easier to handle, shared fuel source and the remote start! I haven't had to use the generator in an emergency, yet. But I do run my generators under load for test every 2 months or so. And this unit is a dream. Not near as heavy as the 10K, but enough for all the loads I need to run. Starts right up, and the remote will be a blessing.

Went through the setup steps which were easy. Battery is easy to connect. Does not require all of the oil that came with the unit. Tried to start it up on gasoline. Would not crank and run until I switched the ECO switch to the ON position. About four hours later, it would crank without the ECO switch being in ON position. Also cranked up using propane. It would not start up on propane using the recoil start but it would start up on gasoline using the recoil start. Nice to have the basic tools need to add oil, attach propane hose and remove spark plug. I have not put a load on it to see how it operates. Only four stars since I could not get the recoil start using propane and have not put a load on it. A storage compartment for the tools would be nice.

I prepped the generator as directed. It fired up first try with gasoline and the same with propane. The remote start works great. Have only had it one day, to early to give it a full review. I hooked our rv up with our surge protector. Only complaint so far is that when I tried running our 15k ac unit the voltage dropped low enough to cause our surge protector to disconnect power.

The generator is super quiet, and very powerful. It powered my 1200W widow AC unit and still showed 0% on the capacity Guage! I plugged in an air fryer instead and then it showed 10% go figure. I used the 30A outlet, and heavy duty cord adapted to fit household plug. Overall, extremely satisfied with this high quality and dependable generator.

I bought this as a replacement for a Honda EU2200i. I bought the Honda to run a camper and it wasn't quite large enough to run the AC and anything else. The 4500DF was easy to set up. There was too much oil in the provided oil container and so it overflowed a bit. Once inspected and filled with oil, I tested all of the functionality and everything seemed to work well. I ran it for about 5 hours under varying loads and it worked like a champ. The YouTube videos for the automatic choke issue were helpful to see where problems could exist. Fortunately, this 4500 seems to not have the issue. I had no problem with all lights on in the camper, the AC on, and the TV playing a movie from the DVD player. I didn't try the microwave at the same time yet. It ran very quiet. I was able to switch between fuels easily. I'd encourage folks to read the manual so you know what to expect. Remote works great. It would be nice to have larger and more all-terrain type wheels. A better funnel for oil would be nice, but they are super cheap. Curious how the oil changes will go to avoid making a huge mess. The Honda had an oil spout right on the fill tube that helped with oil changes and kept it clean and easy. A longer hose for the propane tank would be nice. From a quality control perspective, adding a tag in bright orange that says something like, "OIL NEEDED - DO NOT TRY TO START WITHOUT ADDING OIL" would be nice. Also a label for the propane valve that says, "This Side UP" would be nice. Understandably, these things are in the manual but it seems that reading is hard. I would definitely recommend this generator and am very happy with the purchase!

I bought the Westinghouse iGen4500DF for camping and portable power when needed. The box bottom had broken open on delivery but the generator was undamaged. The instructions are easy to understand and the controls are easy to use. The fit and finish is high quality, although I did have two minor issues. The tabs that hold the rubber splash guard around the fuel filler cap were not clicked into place (easy fix as I just pushed them in). Also, the propane hose connector is slightly off center, making it a little difficult to connect the propane hose because the hose fitting binds against the grommet. This is very minor and in no way detracts from the value or usefulness of the generator. After connecting the battery, filling with oil and connecting the propane; the generator started right up! Idle was rough for a little while but then smoothed out. We've only ran the generator for a couple hours but it looks like a winner! It is quiet and everything works great. I especially like the remote start. The generator had no trouble running a small air compressor, router and miter saw at the same time. I've not ran it on gasoline yet but I don't see why it wouldn't run just as well as it does on propane. I am very satisfied with the iGen4500DF and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, full featured generator in its size range.

I bought this generator for emergency use at the house, which is why I purchased the duel fuel option. The ability to store propane long term without having to worry about it degrading like gasoline is a huge plus. Did a test run last weekend and everything worked as needed. The generator is surprisingly quite. I was able to carry on a normal conversation standing right next to it. It powered the refrigerator, lights, fan and a small portable air conditioner with no problems. The generator is heavy, but the wheels and extended handle make moving it easy.

I am very well pleased with our purchase decision. There are a number of portable inverter generators, not many at this price point that are so well engineered and laid out though. We are RV users and though I have actually just received it and set it up I am convinced we made the right choice for our money. It is not as light as a Honda but a Honda at this power level would cost twice as much. As for noise I can't compare it to any as this is the only portable we have, but it does not seem obnoxiously loud by any means, and the camping we do we tend to not be around a lot of people and the generator will be used to charge the batteries we have for our trailer for the most part, intermittent use, not continual. So we are quite happy with our iGen4500DF.

I just received the iGen 4500w Dual Fuel generator and unboxed it. No damage, in perfect condition. Made in Vietnam. The written instructions are well done and up to expected grammar standards. All maintenance panels are easy to remove. Connecting the battery was a bit of a challenge for my man hands but eventually got that done. Based on the weight of the generator, I'm glad they provide a collapsible airport-luggage style handle, makes moving a breeze. Warranty registration can be done online. I bought this large home generator for peace of mind. I'll do the engine break-in and change the oil. Other than that, This will be a "Break Glass in Case of Emergency" item and I plan on only using propane for fuel. I think this will be an awesome generator.
