My generator box arrived some what damaged on the outside, but did not appear to have any damage as to the contents which were all there as stated in the manual. I had previously spent time reading the enclosed manual which is a great suggestion so the assemble and inspect went quickly. I cut the box apart carefully to remove the generator, saved the side panel with the serial numbers for future reference, inspected the generator for any damage, and finding none I took an inventory of various included parts. Everything was in the boxes as represented in the owner's manual. I took out the generator and hooked up the battery to the included charger to make sure it had a fresh charge. I completed these initial steps and feel ready to be a standby for any sudden power outages. In a few months, Florida's hurricane seasons starts, and I will complete the full break in and running of the generator and update this review.

So far, I have only done the initial start up on my new IGEN4500DF. Getting to the initial startup was extremely easy. Hookup the battery via SAE connectors at the back of the machine. Fill the engine with the provided oil. Fill the gas tank with gasoline, or hook up your propane hose to the provided regulator and hose. Turn the fuel source dial to which ever fuel source position you are using. Turn the ECO mode off, and the battery switch on. Then do any one of the following: pull the recoil starter, or push the push button start on the front panel, or use the remote start FOB that is provided. I used the remote start FOB for the first time from in the house, and it fired up on the first attempt. AWESOME! Full tank of gasoline (3.5gal) shows 21hrs of run time on the digital gauge, with no load drawn from the inverter. Impressive! I'm going to let it run for about 3hrs, as an initial break-in period. Taking it camping with us next month, and I will be running it on LP and gasoline then. I wish there was a specific heavy duty cover for this model, so I could keep it setup on the tongue of my travel trailer all the time, without worry. Let's go Westinghouse, make it happen. A specific cover for this unit, not a one and done universal cover. I will update after we actually use this camping. I only gave it 4 stars due to my initial impression, that may go up or down after it is run , used as it is supposed to be.

This is one of quietest generators I've ever heard. Easily powers our 27ft trailer travel with ease. Lasts a good 16-20 hours on one tank of gas depending on what you are running in your RV at the time. Would definitely purchase this again and recommend to friends.

I purchased this generator about a month ago and love how much quieter it is compared to an open frame generator. Also, enjoy the power requirements needed for my computer and electronics that it produces than the open frame generator I have. Runs really well and believe I can depend on it when I need it. Got this and I was very excited about having a more powerful inverter. 1st this can't even handle my small trailer a/c unit without overloading. 2nd it sometimes won't even start, 3rd ot runs like crap for the first 2-3 minutes not even hooked up to anything. If I could return it I would...

The generator arrived in excellent condition. No dents scratches or any other blemishes noticed. I followed the easy to read & understand instructions, then push the start button and it fired up immediately. Ran it for 45 minutes no problems. I am very happy with the fit and finish of the generator. So far so good.

I originally bought 2 of these generators, but one of them didn't work and had to be returned for a replacement. Better still was the somewhat belligerent woman I spoke with on the phone when I called. She seemed to be excited to pull a power play on correcting me. Not the person you'd expect when you call for Customer Support.

I bought this generator for its duel fuel capabilities. It came with all you new to run off propane except the propane it's self. I would not expecting a propane to come with it. So far I have only ran it off propane and I might never run it off gas. With that said it is nice to have another fuel option in an emergency. This product has performed up to my expectations so far. It is new and I can not speak for the reliability of this product yet, maybe I will update this review in a couple of months.

I'm early into my ownership, but so far so good. As I am using this for a back-up power source, the dual fuel capability was important as I wanted a fuel source (propane) that could be stored for extended periods and remain stable. You lose a little output with propane, but it is worth it to me. Additionally, though more expensive, an inverter generator is a must for me to protect various hard-wired equipments with sensitive electronics. Based on my early experience, I'm considering a second inverter to run in parallel. If you want an economical back-up option, this is a good one.

Just bought this generator and I'm in the process of getting it broke in. It responds to varying loads well. I don't think it's as quiet as my Honda EU3000is that it is replacing, considering that it's a larger generator but it is still very quiet. Happy with this purchase!
