- 5 out of 5 stars review10/13/2021I read all the instructions- to include putting the correct amount of oil in the generator. Put gas in and it started right up! I have tried pull start, button start and Bluetooth start- all worked good! However you cannot leave the ON switch on all night for a hands free start in the morning! Battery doesn't have enough charge to start the motor! SO..... Glad it has a pull start!! Also its not the quietest generator I have ever heard, but it gets the job done! I like the front panel that shows the different measurements... fuel, watts ETC.
Generator works good
Steve1234Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/24/2024Generator arrived yesterday. Read instructions. Added fuel and oil. Hand started to allow battery to charge. Shutdown generator. The pushbutton start/stop works great, the remote start works great. Placed a light load on it. The generator didn't even flinch. Quiet, runs good. Happy with product.

TiplightOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review3/20/2022Just bought the 4500DF put in gas and oil and it fired right up. Still in the break in period so haven't used it a lot but it handles the load and runs quiet. I did see that the manual said the foam air filter should have oil on it so I checked it and it didn't. The set up instructions said nothing about doing this. When you get your generator CHECK THE AIR FILTER! So far I would recommend this generator as it runs good and has nice features.
Runs good, but check the air filter.
RDPETEOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/30/2021Got this trailer camping. It was easy to setup up, except that the SAE plug on the battery had been crushed when I opened it, so I had to tweak that back into shape (round). Not a big fan of the oil fill/change method; you better hope you don't over fill by 1 milliliter, or you will have spillage inside the case. I put a folded shop towel in there to catch any residue, and I'm glad I did. Otherwise, generator works great, although the display is not rotating like it says it will. Good purchase
Easy set up
sluchOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 3 out of 5 stars review10/17/2021I bought this unit specifically because of the electric start and propane capability. I've had dual fuel generators in the past that are difficult to start on propane. This one fired right up out of the box and now 5 days later will not start on propane. It does run nice and quiet. Too early to tell if its going to work out.
Won't start on Propane
In the VillageOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/16/2022I bought this generator this week, it seems to be a great value, I read and followed the start up instructions and it fired up easily, I have ran it on gas and propane, I have used the remote and the pull rope to start the generator and all seems to be working perfectly, I have been very impressed so far and would recommend this product
Great Value
bill61Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review6/24/2024Unboxed and installed the wheels, front legs, and handles, this has to be done before adding oil!! Once you get it upright on its on its wheels and feet, you can add the supplied oil. This comes with a small tube/funnel to use to fill the oil and all the tools you'll need to assemble it. they aren't cheap flat metal tools either! The side panels have sound deadening foam and it really works, this was so quiet when it was running. I used LP gas out of a 20lb bottle to get it started and ensure it works out of the box. I connected a compressor up to it and let it go. Barely even acknowledge the load from the compressor. With LP gas, expect it to take a second time to start due to the priming. I am beyond and impressed with this, ...
Huge, heavy, and super quite!! This is well built!
Greener72Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/13/2021Purchased two of these iGen4500DF generators to parallel and power my 50 amp RV. Got them home, followed the easy to understand directions and fired them both up. I'll have to break them in before paralleling them, but I'm pretty confident they will work out just fine. The remote start/stop is a great feature.
Great Generator
Enforcer6Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review3/1/2022Bought the 4500DF based on needs and reviews for my RV. Much quieter than my previous gen, so I don't need to put it in a sound retardant box. comparable to the db ratings of the Hondas. So far no complaints, works great. Wife likes the remote start, she doesn't need to leave RV in the AM when I'm not there. opted for the dual fuel version to have a second source of fuel, on the chance we run low on gasoline. The 3year warranty is a nice perk, and fairly priced. If your looking to compare, the Cummins/Onan p4500i is similar.

BChavasuOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/14/2021Looked for one with these features and found excellent reviews on this product. It works as described and quiter than I expected. Duel fuel is excellent feature and works flawlessly. Could not be more pleased with value this product provided for the money!
Great product. Excellent features with power
MadmarOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/15/2021I bought this two weeks ago and received it shortly thereafter! I broke it in by running it on partial power and changing the oil three times on one hour intervals! I found changing the oil to be very difficult! I hooked it into my circuit breaker box and powered the house with it! It seemed to work very well! Of all the generators out there I highly recommend this one! I like the electronic gauges and the fact that it runs on propane and gasoline! I found switching it very easy with barely a hiccup when it changes over from one fuel to the other! I love the remote starting feature! When hooking it to my circuit breaker box, it was very convenient to be able to turn it off and on from inside my house! Until I build a soundproof minny gara...
Great features!
abrothermichaelrOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/5/2023I appreciate how quiet it is for the size and the built-in handle and wheels makes it easy to move around. We purchased this to run a portable AC unit and refrigerator in our house as a backup power source. Being able to run with propane is a huge benefit since propane is a stable fuel and can be stored much longer than modern gas with ethanol.
Quiet
mellowdOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review3/27/2021Bought this during an ice storm last month. It runs so smoothly and quietly. Other generators wouldn't run our pellet stove but this inverter generator worked great. It is so quiet. I ran our pellet stove, refrigerator, freezer, our electronics and still had the capacity to run even more.
Best Generator! Worth Every Penny
cubit98Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/7/20213 prong, 30V electric or manual start. Will allow for boon docking in our 16' teardrop trailer. Key fab for remote starting. Love that it is duel fuel, two different handles for ease of moving on wheels/very sturdy! Inverter generator for clean power (for electronics). Living in Texas, if the power grid fails again in the winter or summer, we will have a way to at least have heat/fans and keep the fridge running while charging our phones.
Never Thought I'd Own One-Glad I do now!
DefdroidOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/25/2021Have had a little over a week used it on one camping trip. Features I appreciate are remote start, wife likes it better, fuel gauge, ability to wheel around and drip tray at gas filler cap. One thing I would like different is oil filler neck and level check extended further out.
Great setup
DaGhostOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review5/26/2024Recently received and like how quiet this generator is so far. Excited that we will no longer have to take multiple different fuels when camping. Filling the oil needs to be precise or it easily overflows into the bottom of the generator making it difficult to clean out.
Multi functional
Pearson09Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/28/2021As far as I have used it, I am happy with its functions. It should get me through an extended power outage should another occur as it did here in Tx in Feb. Not to be political, but failure after failure in the face of each disaster has shown one must make their own plans to deal with these things. But build that wall!
Great Features/Power Source
rr_HuttoOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review8/14/2023I used this for my RV and it worked right out of the box with both Propane and Gas. The sounds (DBs) seemed a little higher than advertised but still reasonable for a generator this size. I wish the propane connector was easier to use with an RV. Westinghouse should include a quick connect adapter or offer one as an accessory.
Impressive Overall
Kenny502Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review6/18/2019So far so good, the instructions to prep the generator with oil was easy. The generator started right up with the remote. Look for forward to using the generator this summer when we dry camp. The generator is very quiet, reason why we chose it and also it was a great price for a generator with all the bells and whistles.
Great first impression
AZ ClanOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/29/2021We were looking to replace an older generator for our camper and wanted something quiet. This is much quieter, looks great, is reasonably sized, with a handle to pull it--important with generators as they're heavy. The best feature by far is the remote! Being able to turn it on or off from inside the camper or nearby is a feature we didn't think we needed and now must have! Great little generator and worth every dime!
Great Look Great Features
