Fun for all

I'm glad I got Poetry for Neanderthals because it's a lot of fun for students learning languages. Although we have it in English and not other languages, it's fun to see students and professors flex their linguistic skills by coming up with single-syllable hints.

Super fun!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This game is one of the funniest games we have ever played. We have family game night ever Friday, and we played this one last week. Omg so fun! My 11 year old had a blast hitting us with the blow up club! I highly recommend this game for anyone with kids who love game nights!

So much fun!!

I absolutely loved this game! When you get older creating sentences becomes so much more complex. However playing this game reminds me of working with my kids at school and using simple formation of words. Loved this game and will definitely play with my family again!!#poetryforneanderthals #Tryazon

such a fun game

Poetry for Neanderthals: This game was beyond hilarious. Trying to give clues with just one syllable words is crazy, you really have to think about what you're saying so you don't get bonked in the head with the inflatable club, or the NO! stick. The game is very easy to set up and learn how to play. There are 2 teams, Team Glad and Team Mad and they each sit in alternating positions around the table. You pick who is going to be the poet and then the poet decides if they want their team to guess the 1 point word (easy) or the 3 point word (hard) and if you guess the 1 point word and still have time, you can go for the 3 point word, but if you mess up, you lose the point and have to place the card on the oops slate. We all found it very challenging NOT to use multiple syllable words and always seemed to get hit on the head with the club which, I think, we all loved the most. You then have Grok's words of love and sad cards where the winning team goes through their poetry cards and picks their 3 favorites and insert the words into the blanks in the poem. The other team has the NO! stick and decide whether to use it based on the quality of the poem. This is completely opional but still quite fun and hilarious. Everything you need is included, you get 200 poetry cards, 90 sec timer, poet point slate, team point slate, inflatable 2ft club, and 20 Grok's words of love and sad cards. There is an additional set of poetry cards that you can buy separately.

Unique Fun Game

We first watched a YouTube video on how to play the game since we were a little confused by the instructions. Video was funny and helpful. This game is similar to Taboo except you can only give your guesses in one syllable words. Your teammates try to guess your chosen word quickly so you can keep drawing cards before the sand timer runs out. However, if you break the rules and speak in more than one syllable words, then the opposing teammates can bop you on the head with the 2' inflatable club.

So Easy even a cave man could do it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In our household we are always looking for a fun game for all ages to play. But we stumbled upon poetry for me and it falls we thought this would be too hard for children to Figure out. Surprisingly we were able to play many many rounds of this game with ages from 6 all the way up to 50! The concept of the game is very easy you try to get your team or partner to say word using Only one syllable words. What makes this fun is if you say a word that has more than one syllable's other team gets to wack you with an inflatable caveman Branch. I seriously think that was my kid's favorite part!

Hilariously Fun!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I will start by saying, this game is really fun, but I encourage you to play with more than three people. It's much more fun with teams. This game is harder than it looks and can be pretty challenging. You have to get your partner to guess the phrase/word on your card using only one syllable words to describe it. If you use more than one syllable in your description, you will get pummeled with an inflatable club by a third player. Hilarious! It's so much fun and super entertaining. My eight year old loves it, especially when it's his turn to hold the club. There is an optional extra bit at the end where you can use already played cards to create a Neanderthal ad lib poem. It's charming and witty, I love it and think everyone should play it at least once in their lives.
