For a much smoother configuration experience, use a wired computer and use the comprehensive web interface. Open a Browser and type http://asus.com or 192.168.50.1 into your address bar, then setup your SSIDs, passwords, and admin credentials using a keyboard, mouse, and larger screen, which avoids app crashes and lag. Additionally, disable "Smart Connect" in the wireless settings so your 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands have unique names. This stops smart-switching from dropping smart home (IoT) devices.
