The router is good and fast however it is lacking a fundamental feature on the switching side. That feature is inter-vlan routing, without it the switching is basically useless.

I’ve been using ASUS routers since 2017 and have never had any issues. I especially like the 88U series for its eight Ethernet ports, along with its excellent coverage and performance.

Setup for VOIP and so far works really good. I have Starlink and Orbi Mesa System, which weren't working with my VOIP setup. Calls seem clear and working much better.

You want to plug it in and run, fine. Or you want to tweak settings, go for it with a great UI that supports a rich set of options. ASUS stands behind it with support and timely firmware updates -- and has solid security protection built in.

I’ve been using the 88U for 3 weeks and waited to review the router. I am not that tech savvy. The router was easy to set up and have no problems to date. I think the router app is very useful. This is a powerful router. It covers my 3000sq ft home with no problem. The house is single story. There were several clients that were had random drop offs with my old router. I have had none so far with the 88U. My old router was wifi6. Big difference having WiFi 7 as far as speed. I would recommend this router.

I purchased this router as an upgrade to an old Linksys router based on product reviews and my own experience with Asus products. The router is powerful with good features, easy to set up, and provides Wifi & capability and good features and functionality.

Straighforward to configure and performance is very good. Much more obscure to setup multiple SSID's than older units. Configuring the "table" for the MAC to IP assignments used by the DHCP server is nearly impossible for more than a handful of mappings.
