happy lil chefs

I bought this for my grandchildren, ages 2 1/2 & 1 1/2. They absolutely love cooking for me. The only problems I have is that we had to drill holes into the plastic before we could put the screws in, and the instructions in the box were not for the kitchen we had(so we had to go by the pictures on the box). It comes with a pot and a pan, siverware, plates, bowls, cups, but NO food. It is a cute kitchen though

Adorable

I got this for my granddaughter. She loves to open up all the cabinets and oven and "wash dishes". It's sturdy and the pots and pans with the boiling sound keep her entertained. She loves everything about her kitchen. I believe this will last her many years. It was missing the microwave door but I just called the number that was supplied and within five days, the microwave door was in it's place. They were apologetic and very nice when I called.

Would have given 5 stars, but....

We purchased this kitchen for our children as the "big" part of their Christmas. It wasn't difficult to put together (I didn't know I'd need my drill, but no biggy), looks just like the pictures, and the battery stove worked perfectly. It was a hit with the kids and the food that came with it is a lot of fun for the kids with their pretend play. The reason I didn't give it five stars is because of the refrigerator. The top part doesn't exactly line up so we have to press down a bit on the top front corner of the door to get it to close and when you do so because it isn't seamless the plates and/or bowls almost always fall off the rack. My oldest who uses it the most was easy to teach the trick to, but we shouldn't have had too. Plus, when his dishes fall down when he shuts the door he gets a bit visibly bothered because he had everything where he wanted which makes me bothered. He's adjusted, but that's my only complaint. It's just annoying. We tried to "stretch" it, but were unsuccessful and didn't want to risk breaking it. They do love it though.

As another reviewer stated, this version does not come with an electronic oven or microwave pad. And the white drawer on the left is actually just a sticker. Very easy to put together-under an hour. You just need a bit of muscle for the big screws. The fridge door on ours is a bit off and has to be pushed hard to close, I figure this will fix itself in time. Good value for price paid.

Missing parts

I ordered this for my daughters 3rd birthday. When we opened it it was missing all the decals and instructions. I'm pretty sure other parts were missing as well but we packed it right back up to send back to Walmart. Walmart was nice about it but it was a huge hassle and I had to run around town looking for. Replacement gift. In addition, I think this model was cheap and ugly looking. Step2 has cuter versions if you are willing to spend about $30 more.

Perfect kitchen for toddlers w/minimum space.

I have a petitie child care center at home and this kitchen is being used for two 3yr old boys during our Food and Nutrition module. They LOVE LOVE LOVE it! It doesn't take up a lot of space and yet all the extra little features keep them entertained for about an hour a day. I bough it on sale and it came with a little chef hat and apron. It's definitely worth the price. It arrived on time and in perfect condition. The only (minor flaw) is that it's best if you have a mini power drill when assembling.

Super easy to put together.

All the pieces were there, instructions were easy to follow, it took me about an hour and fifteen minutes -- mostly because I obsessed over getting the decals on just right. The child I bought it for is 14 months and while she doesn't pretend to cook with it, she loves to put the dishes in the many compartments and take them out. She can easily put the skillet and pot on the burner just so to make the sizzling or boiling sounds.

Great toy

My 3 year old loves her new kitchen. I wish i would have bought it for her when she was 2 she would have been able to enjoy it a lot longer. She loves the sounds it makes and I love how it looks so much like a real kitchen. It wasn't very difficult to put together and she "helped" me.

My toddler loves it!

I bought this for my daughter's 2nd birthday, and she loves it!!! Given all the features of the kitchen, I think the price of $78.60 is great!!! That's what really made up my mind about getting it. The assembly wasn't awful, but it wasn't easy either. Not sure if it was just ours, but some of the holes needed for the screws were missing so we had to use a drill to make them, which wasn't easy given that we're not very handy. Also, there is a little buckle in the kitchen now that makes the refrigerator door a tad hard to open/close. My daughter can still do it, but it's just not as easy as the other doors are. The stickers were also a little tricky for my perfectionist-self to place 100% straight (since they're so large and very sticky) but my daughter doesn't seem to mind. ;) She loves her little kitchen and it does come with a few basic starter plates/cups/utensils/pots as well which is great! Overall, I'd definitely buy this again and recommend to a friend.

Pretty good kitchen for the price!

Pretty good kitchen for the price! My 20 month old daughter has just had it a few days- but so far I've noticed the fridge is tough to close if it's not pushed at the top of the handle. So, until she gets the hang of it- she always asks us for help. And since the fridge is tough to close- if she forces the door closed- then the dishes fall out of their vertical slots. I also think the border of the kitchen is a little outdated- I believe they have cherries on it- my husband left those stickers off and I think it looks better. Besides those minor details- I think she will love it and all the food that it came with!!
