A huge step up from the SB3820x-C6 for $68.00

I purchased the VIZIO 38" 2ch Sound Bar (SB3820x-C6) model due to price (30.00 cheaper than this model) and the sound was mediocre and I ended up returning it and buying this model (has Bass speakers in it) and a huge difference in quality and depth of sound. It is a Bluetooth speaker as well so streaming music from your BlueTooth devices is a plus. I ended up needing to use 2 of the 4 cables provided (yes provided with this unit) to direct connect my cable set-top box and laptop to this soundbar since my TV's audio out did not pass through HDMI audio that was connected to it. For an open apartment living area this is located, the decibel level from this device is more than enough to have the neighbors banging on your door to turn it down. Great buy!

Perfect sound bar for the price!

I have been an electronics aficionado for more than thirty years and this is the best sounding $100 speaker I have heard to date. The sound is clean and crisp, the surround mode encompasses you in the movie you are watching. I have my JBL 150 watt powered subwoofer connected to the Vizio......and it rocks!!!! The "only" negative feed back I would have would be the input selection lights....it is difficult to determine which input source you have selected. Besides that small imperfection I would recommend to go out and buy this product.....without any hesitation!!!!

Great enhancement

I got this for my 50" Sony Bravio flat screen which honestly has better than average built in speakers already. I converted one bedroom into a tv room and wanted more; I got it with this sound bar. It's just the right amount for my 14 x 14 room, maybe a bigger room as well. At first I was concerned that there was no difference. Like other reviews, it important to read directions. I simply had to switch my tv from tv speakers to sound system and boom, it kicked in. Then adjust bass, treble etc to taste. Just play with it a while and tweak this and that till you get your sound. Good feature is you can always add a woofer (must be wired) if you are a big bass person. Very pleased. Like others the only down side are the lights on the left that indicate levels etc. Just copy layout from instruction sheet and keep near tv

Worth the tiny splurge!

When I first looked at this product, I researched reading other's reviews...some were good but some said negative things, all which to me were what only mattered to someone who was an audio or tech geek. But to someone like me, who needed an upgraded sound for her small room, I loved it and it was worth every penny! I can't even imagine how it sounded before. I especially love the Bluetooth feature, I can play music without the use of an AUX cord or any cord for that matter! Only thing I wish it came with was a subwoofer, but if that's what you're looking for is total complete surround sound, I'd spend more money and get a system with a subwoofer. But if you're just looking for better sound for your TV, this is worth it. Oh and the installation is totally idiot proof.

Good sound for the money

We purchased the sound bar to go with our Vizio 55 inch TV. It was not too bad to set up after you studied the instructions for a while!! The sound is good and you can program it to be adjusted by the TV remote. A good buy for the money and makes the TV a sound theatre.

NOT AS BAD AS EVERYONE SEEMS TO THINK

I recently purchased a new 60" TV, speakers are in the back. Sounded lousy. Most of the reviews for this sound bar, all said good with small TV, some even said not good at all. The larger sound bars are too expensive for me, (I am broke from the 60" TV) so Purchased this smaller one. I figured what do I have to lose, Wal-Mary has the best return policy of them all. Well I get it home, Set up take's maybe two minutes, my tv remote worked instantly on the sound bar. My living room is fairly large, yet this sound bar had NO problems filling the room with perfect sound. It helps balance out those movies where the sound effects are one volume, and the dialog is another volume. OK I will land the plan, overall great speakers, great price--buy them what have you got to lose, you don't like them just return within 90 days...

Excellent product at a great price!

Bought this VIZIO sound bar for my son's TV and could not be happier. It might not be the BOSE sound bar, but I'm very happy we didn't have to pay thousands of dollars for a great looking sound bar with very good sound! My son set it up, so I can only say it took him -approximately- 30 minutes…without reading the instructions, that is. I would -most definitely- not only recommend it to family and friends, but I'm considering purchasing a second one.

Great sound and bass

for a 2.0 sound bar this is very good and an improvement over the older one it replaced. Has good sound and bass for a 2.0 sound bar. now if you want room thumping bass you need one with a woofer or add one to this bar. but if want a good sound bar with decent bass I would recommend this one . installed quickly up and going in just a few minutes.

Good sound bar fair price

I bought this to replace a stereo receiver and 2 bookshelf speakers that I had my computer connected to. I want to free of some space on my desk. I have it connected via optical S/PDIF from my PC. The sound quality obviously isn't as good as a dedicated receiver and 2-way speakers but it holds up well enough and the space savings was my primary purchasing factor. I have a pair of high-end headphones if I want to do serious listening. But if you consider what this sound bar is intended for (especially at this price point) it's certainly better sound quality than most built-in television speakers. In that respect you won't be disappointed. It's got a wide mid-range and if positioned correctly (ear level) does a surprisingly good job of creating an encompassing "surround" effect. The remote control is a nice addition. Also nice that there's a connection for an optional subwoofer which I may consider in the future. Assuming the build quality is good and it lasts a while then I'd say this is a great buy if this is the price range (~$70) you're shopping for.

Best bang for the price

This was a massive upgrade from the tv speakers. Highs, mids, and lows are projected and don't sound distorted like tv speakers. Even without a sub, the bass comes through fine and doesn't over power the mids and highs. Overall for a 100 dollars, this is the best bet. And it includes cables so I didn't have to buy anything! Hooked up coax audio and digital audio for the best sound. What a deal! Only complaint is the volume adjustment isn't fluid like you would get in a knob so the jump from one level to the other can be a bit loud - so you can't fine tune the volume but that's minor and far from a deal breaker at this price. I highly recommend this for an inexpensive upgrade.
