No hair wrap

This is the first vacuum I've ever owned that really does not get hair wrap. You'll see some on the roller but it really does disappear while you're vacuuming. When I first used it I had a lot of human hair on the floor and it did wrap somewhat but was easy to clean. Since then, no hair wrap. I have FOUR cats and a free roaming rabbit.

Very versatile

I bought this vacuum a few weeks ago and overall I am very happy with it. Cleans very well and is very versatile. A couple of notes to the manufacturers: the on/off button is extremely difficult to push. And I feel its a bit heavy and hard to control swivel head.

60 year old male review

i did some extensive product comparison within the Shark product line, and a lesser degree competitors . I purchased the Shark Rotator Power Lift Away with Self Cleaning Brushroll Upright Model Number ZU632. After countless hours of reading reviews, sorting through video's, I decided against some of the newer technology offered by Shark, specifically Duo Clean machines with double rollers.. you'll get a mixed bag of pro's, con's and customer satisfaction with Duo machines. The high end Apex Duo even come with a 7 year full warranty vs a limited 5 year warranty included with my machine but the machine I purchased has a single hair free roller with years of proven satisfaction, and in my opinion a much more maintenance free component. Just because you can get 7 yrs warranty with a machine, doesn't mean you won't be incurring more frequent mechanical issues, down time waiting for free parts to ship to you, etc.. for me, the single hair free roller was a more practical, easier replacement part for when the time comes I want to replace the brush roller... its use in the month I've had it has worked flawlessly with my hair, a lady friends hair, and a heavy shedding Labrador top and bottom coat. I'm convinced that was a correct choice. You will find a lot of different models of a Rotator machine, some using titles professional, others through both home shopping networks that might offer seemingly more bang for the buck, but in the end, I found all those machines to be of a lesser standard, less powerful, and extra attachments that might be included more a advertising perk for purchasing a lower grade machine.. When I set out on this process, and try to understand I'm a penny wise, but top end shopper, I had two specific requirements my purchase had to meet. I wanted a machine powerful enough to vacuum my Ford supercab F-150, and one that would operate as a pull around canister would, to completely lay flat and scoot under a low 6" clearance queen size bed rail bed..I'm happy to report this machine does both. Having my Labrador in the truck frequently, (the back seat area is hers) and with the amount of hair that floats under my bed, this machine does a great job solving both problems.. I really am able to almost go all the way under the bed from one side, then I go around the other side and finish off what I couldn't reach from the other side... can't tell you how glad I am to have that problem checked off the list.. In the truck, and if you've ever had a dog with wiry, some of the hair seems to weave right into the carpet fabric.. Well this machine makes quick work of most all of it, having cut my time in half basically from vacuuming my truck, and I am full blow OCD about vacuuming my truck.. I use the brush attachment, and take the bristle brush portion off of it, then end result is a very low profile attachment that allows you to have very high suction as well as a felt pad which seems to agitate the hairs just enough to make vacuuming flat places in the cab reasonably easy, and I finish with the clevis tool. It's been far superior to my Kirby hose attachment both in suction and function, although I find the clevis tool on the new machine wider then I would prefer it. Having used it twice now to fully vacuum the truck, It's becoming easier to get used to, as having the handle attached to the hose does limit your maneuverability while vacuuming, as does the length of hose.. But after sometime one realizes how to position the lift away canister and get the job done. Ive used it through out the house, as as it is all enclusive with its attachments and snap apart configuration, I've begun to acclimate myself to time savings doing regular vacuuming, cod webs, window sills, jambs, corners and baseboard nooks and crannies. Being a very practical person, I need things to do the jobs I need them for as expediently as possible...this machine fits the bill nicely.. I could go on about the dust bid, the suction power, and all the functions you would hope all Sharks Machines have, pound for pound, dollar for dollar, I put this machine up against all the newer technology they offer, with what I expect to be a longer life cycle and lower maintenance machine.. I highly recommend this machine, I'm expecting a minimum of 10 years of service from it, and if well maintained and brush roll rep and filters replaced periodically, 20 years of service.. I've used this machine on my brand new microfiber couch the same way I use it in my truck, and it works very well for removing all pet hair.. They do offer a power pet attachment, and had considered purchasing it, but now after having used the vacuum as I intend, I have no need for the power pet attachment... buyer beware if you choose one of the other fine options Shark offers which might be more budget friendly, after my research, even phone conversations with Shark Reps. discussing all the machines and features.. although a bit heavier (16 lbs) this really is an excellent choice If you can fit it in your budget. Although I was used to a 30 foot cord on my last machine, its simply the amperage draw of the more powerful Shark machine which limits the length of cord to 25 feet.. I would rather have the extra power then the extra 5 feet of cord. Its amazing the hair, and dander that is picked up after every use.. hope my review helps you make an informed purchase.

Cord not long enough, lacks attachments

I overall like the suction power and lightweight feel of the vacuum. Luckily I had my attachments from my last Shark vacuum to clean my wood floors because this does not come with an adequate attachment for that purpose. The vacuum itself has a setting for wood floors but does not pick up as much as my Shark flat pad attachment. The other negative is the cord is short. I have to change the plug 3x to sweep my downstairs whereas my last Shark powered lift away I could plug into one and do the entire floor. I'm satisfied with the vacuum but for the price paid, improvements need made. Hoping this vacuum lasts me as long as the last Shark did!

Great features Amazing suction

Great features Amazing suction Washable filters. I bought this for the powered lift away function. I clean houses so I have used all kinds and brands. I usually prefer canister vacuums. The powered lift away feature makes it so you can vacuum under beds and other furniture while still using the beater brush. It's so versatile. I love the onboard storage for the attachments as well. It also has the self cleaning brush roll so no broken belts and no need to cut away hair from around the roll. The switches right on the handle are a major plus as well. 3 brush speeds plus on/off located right on the handle. Just a super vacuum

Wow

Have Rotator pro nv501 purchased 8 years ago. We used it on the front porch, it got clogged big time and overheated. The brush quit working so I was on the lookout for a new shark. I read lots of reviews and the one thing that stood out was the POWERED liftaway. It fits under our beds and the buffet in the dining room. The fact that it was on sale for a ridiculously low price cinched the deal. Super easy to put together. When we used it, we were amazed at the suction power. Seems more powerful than our nv501. Love the hair free roller brush. We have 2 dogs and so far it works great. I expect it to last as long as our nv501 and we are really pleased with our purchase. By the way, watched a you tube video and bypassed the cut off switch for the roller, replaced the belt and the nv 501 is still running good. We now have 2 sharks, one for upstairs and one for downstairs, so we don't have to carry them back and forth. I highly reccomend this machine. Everything works as advertised, and because of my experience with the nv501, I'm sure it will be reliable.

Best Vacuum I've Purchased!

It's so hard to make a decision on a new vacuum, but I made a good decision with this one! What I like: 1. It's the best vacuum I've used in terms of ease of use. To switch to the attachment, you don't have to move the hose attachment from here to there—you just click a button the handle (no bending!) and off pops the attachment hose. The handle you use to push the vacuum on carpet is also the handle for the hose. So you just push a button to release it and voilà, the hose is already in your hand. Same sort of ease-of-use goes for switching from hard floors to carpet, releasing the dust bin, and releasing the canister. 2. The suction is amazing on the floors and on the hose. 3. It's the first vacuum I've had that does great on hard floors. I haven't noticed it scattering any debris like all my other vacuums did. I can truly use this vacuum on my whole house. 4. The way the canister detaches is genius! It's so convenient to do stairs without having to use a separate handheld vacuum or lugging up and balancing the whole vacuum while trying to vacuum stairs at the same time. With this vacuum, you just take the little canister up with you and use the hose attachment. 5. A small thing, but I really like the upholstery tool. It works well without snagging the weave fabric on my couch, which my other upholstery attachments have done. Things I would improve: 1. A cord rewind would make this vacuum just perfect. :) 2. When using the canister, it tends to fall over a lot. Not a big deal because I think it works just as well on its side. On a similar note, it takes more wrist strength to maneuver than other vacuums.

Rotator Vacuum

Rear wheels too small which causes the rear of the lower unit to drag on the carpet. Nearly impossible to push comfortably.

No more fur

I have had this vacuum for a few weeks now. This is the second Shark vacuum that I own. I bought this one primarily for the self cleaning roller brush. I have a long haired dog and wife, and was constantly cleaning the roller brush of both dog and blond hair. Let me tell you, I put this to the test and I couldn't be happier with the results! I wouldn't say 100% hair free, but a solid 98%. Big win! The larger collection container means that I don't have to stop and dump quite as often. I'm putting it through its paces and I couldn't be more pleased with this vacuum.

Not for the weak!

There is a lot of flexibility with this sweeper. The detachable tank allows you to sweep steps, walls and upholstery. It does a great job with all levels of floor coverings from hardwood to thick pile. My disappointment was the weight of this sweeper. Although it moves easily on the flooring, it's weight makes it difficult to lift to other levels, especially for those who do not have a lot of upper body strength. Had I realized this sooner, I would certainly have returned this purchase.
