Hi Janice, you can absolutely use the BP7255 without a smartphone as it will display your readings directly on the screen and store up to 60 readings, and if you prefer not to use batteries you can purchase a compatible AC adapter like the Omron AC Adapter for Blood Pressure Units to power the device instead; for help getting set up, please contact Omron Consumer Support at 800-634-4350.
