Very nice and works so well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The photo shows it on its side because the wheels were being put on. However the wheels make it much easier to move around and the handle is even a better touch. The noise is not as loud as some I have heard and it was easy to start with the pull start. We plan to connect it to the house so it will run a few major appliances like the deep freezer and fridge.

Generator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm super happy with this generator. It's very easy portability wise to move around if needed as it's on wheels. Maintenance is easy, so that's a plus. When the power goes out, this will help light up the whole house. Noise level is hardly none.

Very disappointed

I have owned this generator approximately five years, it only has 60 hrs on it. It has been in auth shop twice and has had four new fuel pumps. Also new voltage regulator It has now blown the fuse behind the control panel and blows another as soon as installed?? I seldom post negative comments on products. In fact this is my first!!!! Very disappointed!!!

For 50 hours then nothing

Bought this unit to get us through the storm last year. It did it's job well for the first 50 hours, then it quite running. It won't start and run. Pretty sure it's the electronics, the CO2 sensor. Saw a U tube video of the exact model doing the exact thing. Bad unnecessary CO2 sensor. So it sits there broken waiting for me to find a shop, time, and help to load it.

Reliable and easy to setup!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Generac GP5500 Single-Fuel (50-State) from Influenster and Generac in exchange for an honest review, and after using it during a recent outage and for a few home projects, I'm genuinely impressed with its performance. The GP5500 has power to spare. It ran all of my essential home items—refrigerator, freezer, Wi-Fi, several lights, and even the microwave—without any strain or noticeable fluctuations. I've also used it to power a couple of heavier tools for outdoor projects, and it handled everything smoothly. Starting it is surprisingly effortless. The recoil start consistently comes to life on the first or second pull as long as the basics (fresh fuel, clean oil) are in order. It's refreshingly straightforward for a generator of this size. In terms of noise, it's about what you'd expect from an open-frame unit—comparable to a lawnmower at a reasonable distance. Audible, yes, but not disruptive or harsh. The fuel efficiency is another standout. One full tank carried me comfortably through an evening and overnight stretch, which was especially appreciated during the outage. If I had to point out a downside, it would be the weight. Even with the wheel kit, maneuvering it across uneven ground takes a bit of strength. Once it's in place, though, it's rock-solid. Overall, the Generac GP5500 is a reliable, well-designed generator that delivers exactly what you need during an outage or for demanding projects. It's straightforward, dependable, and built to last—qualities that matter most when you're relying on backup power.

Solid, well-made unit.

This generator is everything it claims to be. Easy to set-up, use and is reliable. I hooked it up to my home for a test-run the day after I received it. It started up instantly and powered the entire "critical function" sub-panel in my home (HVAC, water/well, freezers/refrigerators, water heater (gas), water softener, garage door, washer/dryer (gas), WIFI/network and critical lights/outlets). We built our home in 1998 (just prior to "Y2K", ha!) and included the sub-panel. I toyed with the idea of now installing a whole-home generator - but that would have been an $8-10K investment - this was <$1K. For the roughly one power outage we experience every 2-3 years, this is a good, economical solution.

Easy to Start. Easy to Use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Out of the box assembly was fairly easy. I am not crazy about the design and setup of the handle. It's awkward and flimsy. However the frame is sturdy and durable. The two wheels make it very mobile. The controls are clearly labeled and makes it simple to use. It is easy to start using gasoline or propane. Runtime on one tank is about 8 to 10 hours. I've used it on the job site without issues. I am able to power a compound miter saw, table saw, floodlighting, and air compressor easily. Its rather compact size is good for hauling it from job site to job site. It fits into the back of a truck quite well. I also like the fact that it can operate on gasoline or propane.

needless waste of my time to resolve warranty issu

Originally purchased unit from a general distributor. The product did not work as it should. Spent months trying to get that resolved. The process was gruesome and useless. Finally after months & hours of my time a resolution was determined to replace the unit with a new one. This unit appears to perform as advertised and expected. So long story short, replacement made but after months of aggravation. Not what I ever bargained for.

A must have on the farm for power outages! We will

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very pleased with the Generac Dual Fuel Generator. I gave it a try on my farm and it effortlessly powered anything I asked of it. Skill saws, lights, anything! It was easy to assemble. Propane took a minute to get started but gasoline fuel fired right up. The only reason I knock of one star is the difficulty we had starting it initially. Noise level is adequate for it's size. I couldn't imagine the farm without it. It also provides me comfort to know it's ready when needed for one of our many power outages!

Good in a pinch!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This portable generator will work in a pinch if there is a power outage. It's easy to use, easy to move, and has enough output to power most appliances. Buyers should understand that generator won't be able to power multiple major appliances, but you can power a refrigerator or freezer just fine! The GP5500 runs on unleaded gasoline and has a run time of about 10hrs. It was easy to assemble and took about 20mins to put on the handle, wheels, and rubber feet. I've only put about 4hrs of time on it so far and it has worked great. Overall, if there is a major power outage, you can count on this generator to function when you need it.
