No power :(

Well, I bought this a couple years ago to use when we go camping. I used it once and had no issues. Today I got it out to power my furnace in the house. None of the outlets have power. I checked the breakers and no luck. I tried the GFCI, but it won't trip because of no power.

Powerhouse of a generator!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This generator is a beast! The craftmanship is great, and it's a whopping 220+ lbs. Perfect for generating an entire house with no difficulty. Excellent quality and packed with care. I'd recommend it to anyone who could use it. It is worth every penny!

GP15000E This generator and i have been through two hurracains

Just before August 9, 2004 – August 15, 2004 I acquired the GP15000E for construction work that i was doing at the time. some of my co workers said that for just for me using portable power it was way overkill but hey i'm just that way. So the overkill came in handy when Hurricane Charley arrived. Charley was brutal, killed power every where. Lucky for me, overkill and I had a lot of Power to run. I was lucky my neighbor was an electrician because i was just going to run fans and and a fridge. he happened to be around to help. In exchange for him hooking Overkill directly to my house"s breaker box so we can run the air conditioner I let him and his wife and his two little babies bunk with us which he really appreciated and so did i for his service. It was a hot for those four days that we went with out regular power but Overkill was a great investment. Not only that i went through with Charley but also moved to Texas just in time for Hurricane Ike in September 1, 2008 – September 15, 2008. Went three days with out regular power on that deal. There has been a few storms since then that my trusty Overkill has pulled me through some power outages. I would recommend for anybody to have a Generator of some sort but i recommend Generac because so far i have not had any problems with my Overkill, I"m glad i have that tool in my war chest. As a matter of fact a storm blew through Huntsville Texas yesterday 3/24/2017 that knocked down trees on the power lines that left me once again without power for about 10 hrs. Lucky for me i have Overkill here to save the day. well that my story , hope this helps you out with your decision on what power to buy

GP15500 EFI *DISAPPOINTED *

I purchased and received my GP15500 EFI on July 11, 2023. I purchased the unit to supply supplemental power to my home, as we experience frequent multi-day power outages due to severe weather. As of yesterday, 07/29/23, we were subject to severe weather and lost power. I fired the generator up and started supplying power to my home. The unit worked flawlessly for 10 hours, getting me through the night. Woke up this morning, 07/30/23, and shut the unit down to let it cool before refueling. Went to get more fuel and when I returned home (30 mins later) I found that the top portion of the fuel tank imploded and collapsed on itself. I am in complete disbelief. This was supposed to be a reliable piece of equipment and at $4,000.00 I expected more. Yes, the unit is covered under warranty. However, no Generac certified repair shop is open on a Sunday and I estimate not having my equipment back for several weeks, figuring new parts will have to be ordered. The unit was assembled and maintained according to the manufacturer's manual (i.e, oil level, fresh fuel, proper storage, etc.) And only has 11.2 hours of run time. I went with Generac because of their exceptional reputation but now regret my purchase, as I have a $4,000.00 paper weight and no power. I may update this review once my equipment is repaired but fear I will run into the same issue in the future. I tried to add photos but I am unable to do so.

Great emergency power for necessities

I've been very happy with this generator. I set it up as soon as I brought it home because I wanted to ensure it didn't have any issues. It started right up and produced power. I drained the fuel and put it in the garage. I use the generator box as a cover so other than a few disrespectful spiders it looks brand new. I've only had to use it twice in the two years I've owned it and both times it fired right up, as soon as I remembered to turn the power switch on. We used it to power the refrigerator, tv, satellite receiver, and a light. As expected, it had no problem powering those. As for the sound, I don't really consider it quiet. I put it about 20 ft from the house under a shelter, ran extension cables through the window, put a towel in the window to seal out airflow and some noise. We can easily hear it in the house even over the tv at normal levels. I wouldn't consider it loud but it's much louder than the small generators I've seen used for tailgating. I'm not trying to compare the two. I'm just trying to give you a frame of reference. It wouldn't keep me from buying another one if I needed it. I don't know the limits of this generator but if you want to have power available for the basics when there's an outage, I believe this will work for most people.

Battery charger

I have had this unit for three years now and fortunately have not needed it......yet. I do maintain it regularly and it seems to run well One question......is there a specific position that the start switch should be in when the generator is stored and the battery is charging (supposedly)..? The push start will not work any time that I try to start it....I always have to resort to the pull start. This will be hard for my wife if I am at work when we lose power.....one of the reasons I chose this unit. I store it with the battery charger plugged in as recommended but the battery never has enough to start the unit. Any help would be appreciated.

Great Generator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this item for free from Influenster in exchange for my honest review. This is an awesome generator! I love that it has wheels, this adds a lot of portability. I also love that you can power it with gasoline or propane, which is super versatile. It provides a lot of power, which gives me a lot of peace of mind.

Highly Recomend!!

I brought this generator prior to relocating to Puerto Rico this year. When Hurricane Irma then Maria hit the island in September, I ran it 24X7 to power my home. I could not be happier. Had refrigerator and lights everyday until the power was restored November 25th. That was 2 plus months. Never a hiccup and on we washed our clothes in the washer. I invested in a transfer panel during the outage and that made the use even easier/ The electric start is a charm and changing the oil is easy. 10 days after the power was restored the lights went out again. Went to my generator, pushed the start button and it went back on line. Went I turned it off after 2 months I kissed it because it helped my wife and I get thru a difficult time. Buy this unit. I am a very careful shopper and only invest in quality products. If I seem enthusiastic, it is because it performed beyond my expectations. THANKS GENERAC!!!

Generac GP6500E TF Generator – Our Honest Experien

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were fortunate to be selected as part of a Generac campaign and were given the opportunity to try out the Generac GP6500E TF generator. After putting it to the test, we can confidently say: this generator is absolutely outstanding! Watch my video you can hear the noise level. For such a large generator it's not loud, loud! Compared to our old (small, little dude) DuroStar generator, the difference is incredible. See my side by side comparison of the two generators. The old one was unable to power our whole home. Mainly had it to keep the fridge on and perhaps a lamp. As you can see from the photos, the Generac is much more compact, yet it delivers so much more power and efficiency. It's designed to handle major loads — from running a huge RV to keeping an entire home powered. In fact, we're currently in the process of wiring our home to connect it directly, so during the next round of severe North Texas thunderstorms or tornado-related outages, we'll be fully prepared. What truly impressed us: • Tri-Fuel Capability: The GP6500E TF runs on natural gas (NG), liquid propane (LP), or gasoline, giving us incredible flexibility depending on what resources are available during an emergency. Need different ways to be able to source power! • Reliable Startup: It starts up easily and quickly every time, which is critical when you're dealing with unexpected power outages. As you can see just the push of a button. • Quality and Efficiency: Generac has a stellar reputation, and after experiencing this machine firsthand, we understand why. It's thoughtfully engineered, highly efficient, and feels durable enough to last for years. • Easy Assembly: We had it fully set up in about 15 minutes. The instructions were clear, and we also watched a couple of their setup videos on YouTube, which were incredibly helpful. • Peace of Mind: With a young child at home, having dependable backup power isn't just convenient — it's essential. This generator gives us the confidence that we'll stay powered and safe, even when the grid goes down. Our close friends down the road are gonna get one now! They came over and checked it out. They have kids too. So having power is important for them as well. Our power grids out here and very unreliable. One night all it took was someone hitting one pole in our town to knock out all the subdivisions power. Even though we didn't purchase this unit ourselves, we would absolutely invest in Generac products in the future based on this experience. The GP6500E TF has exceeded our expectations in every way. We can now rest easy knowing that no matter how bad the weather gets, we'll have the power we need to stay comfortable and safe. Love the solar options they have on their website! We're campers so definitely gonna get one of those. I need to crockpot it in the forest!! Thank you, Generac, for selecting us to be part of this campaign and for delivering such an incredible, reliable product!
