[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great blender. The outer shield does reduce the noise for the most part. It is very loud without the shield. It is very powerful. Crushes ice for smoothies in seconds. love the self cleaning function. Nice to not have to take it all apart and wash it every time. The only thing I didn't like is the main container does not have a handle on it only the outer cover. Overall it is an amazing blender.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Amazing design. Quiet with the use of the quiet shield cover. Powerful 1500 watt, 2 hp. Easy to clean using the “Clean” program. Blender jar with cutting blade assembly fits in the dishwasher. The Hamilton Beach Professional Quiet Blender will be a permanent part of our counter as it fits underneath the cupboards, and is light weight. Excellent instruction booklet with helpful recipes. Well designed tamper. Four very useful programs- clean, puree, crush and smoothie. Pulse setting to effectuate complete mixing of ingredients. Variable speed settings. TESTS: ICE CRUSHER: Performs effortlessly and quietly and quickly. Important if you do not have a refrigerator with an ice maker that dispenses crushed ice. (We did not) Quiet, as my wife was napping in the next room in our small cottage, and she did not hear a thing. SMOOTHIES: We tried a blueberry smoothie as we were staying at a cottage with blueberry bushes. Very quick to crush the ice. Simple recipe- fresh blueberries, ice, sugar, milk or ice cream. Delicious, quick and easy. NUT BUTTER: We made peanut butter, almond butter and mixed nut butter. The tamper was helpful. We went on the wild side with the peanut butter by using roasted peanuts (roasted-not dry roasted), sea salt, fresh ground pepper and Saigon cinnamon. Refrigerate 8 hours after blending. You need a powerful blender to perform this recipe, and the Hamilton Beach Professional Quiet Blender was expertly up to the task with no hesitation. Pulse settings to be used with variable speed setting. Highest speed setting still very quiet. Nut butters are delicious, healthy and nutritious with simple ingredients. CLEANING: Use the program cycle for cleaning with 1 cup warm water, and 1 drop dishwasher soap. If you can clean peanut butter, you can clean anything. Very easy, no fuss clean! COCKTAILS: We tried frosty, icy, refreshing pina coladas and blueberry margaritas. Ice was crushed easily. Quick and enjoyable!! Made our vacation very special! RECOMMENDATION: The Hamilton Beach Professional Quiet Blender is simple to use, powerful, well designed, easy to clean, safe, and attractive. This will stay on our kitchen counter for years to come. The five year warranty is an important feature. I have unconditionally recommended this product to my family and friends.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this blender as a sample and I'm happy I did! It's got really great features and is quiet compared to my old one. I have made smoothies several times in it, it really chops the ice and the fruit. Love the way it works -- starts with chopping, then stops, then picks up speed to really make the smoothie! The cover over the blender really helps to make it quieter than a normal blender (no blender is silent) with ice and fruit chopping. There's also a clean feature which is great, too! Effortlessly crushing ice, making nut butter, even with almonds. I've used it to grind everything from coffee beans to steak for burgers. Its WONDERFUL.Clean up is a breeze

It is perfect for small batches of smoothies or dressings and sauces. The "Quiet" feature was what made me choose this product. I am sorry to say that I was disappointed. I did not find it any less noisy than other blender.

Blends with ice great!!!! I highly recommend this blender and will definitely only use Hamilton Beach Professional blenders in the future. Great Product! Oh, and it even cleans itself!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like that it fits under kitchen cabinet, extremely strong motor, so easy to use the variable speed feature (very user friendly). Not as quiet as I expected but the Quiet Shield does help. A very heavy duty appliance, I like using it a lot and that the blender jar is square at the bottom makes it easy to get food out and also easy to clean. Very satisfied!

The container was smaller than I expected and the extra cover piece worked well but just added another step to the process. It seems to function more as a smoothie machine than anything else. It seems to have very few features I had on my smaller one. I'm glad I tried it but prefer my older machine to this one.
