Absolutely terrible experience. Would not recommend anyone to purchase. I got halfway through putting this together and realized the couplers were missing so there is no way to attach the two sections of shelving together. The parts list on the instructions do not even include the couplers but they are mentioned in the assembly instructions. How incompetent can a company be? I contacted their support email and got a quick reply stating that they would UPS the missing pieces to me. The UPS shipment went a week without updating any info. Now the expected delivery date for my missing pieces is over TWO WEEKS after when the shelving unit was delivered. So I paid for a shelving unit that has sat for two weeks being absolutely useless.

The shelf is a good value for the money with caveats. All of the metal parts seem to be just fine and appropriate for the shelving that they are, however, there are no feet to protect the flooring that the shelf is sitting on, and the connectors used to connect the upper and lower corner poles is not included. Those connectors should be included by default with a product like this yet they are not in the packing list while they are in the assembly instructions. The particle wood shelving is quite thin and seems to bow easily, however, they were able to hold all my toolboxes, extra tools, air compressors, ammo cans, and other workshop items without looking to distressed. I suppose time will tell if they are able to hold up.

Very easy to set-up, sturdy and appealing. Please remember this. When installing have someone help as it is beneficial for one person to at least hold one end of the braces while the other puts them in place, or both put in place. Also wear safety glasses.

I give this item 5 stars for its value as a $60 purchase. I would never have bought it at the regular price. These are very easy to assemble. I assembled these myself but it is a little tricky for just one person. The first set took me about 30 min as I fought with aligning the upper set of corner posts, but the second set took me less than half the time. Two people could easily assemble a set of these shelves in under 10 minutes. I ordered three sets of shelves. Due to the common complaint of damage during shipment I chose to have them delivered to the store and I would pick up there. That turned out to be a good strategy because one of the sets arrived damaged and the store was very proactive and took care of everything, identified the damage early, processed a refund, and kept me informed by email. Very good customer service. Don't have these sent directly to your home, the odds are that there will be damage and you are stuck with arranging for the refund and getting things shipped back. Let the store deal with those logistics. I would be uncomfortable loading 2000 lbs. on these shelves. If you plan to do that I would follow the recommendations in the instructions to place the unit on a level surface and attach the shelving to a wall to keep the posts plumb and generally stabilize the unit. I would attach the shelving in two places for each section, because there is a little play between the top and bottom section. Don't place this unit in a high-humidity area or where it may get wet, unless you plan to change out the particle board with something more resistant to moisture. If I had it to do over again, I would not change anything. Buy at the sale price, plan for damage.

Shipping was great and on time by FedEx however when I began assembling the shelves I realized the couplers weren't supplied with the other parts, even though the manual said to place the top post onto the bottom post using the couplers. Where are the couplers? I can't continue assembling without them.

Great price, which was my main priority. However, as a word of caution, stacking the shelves is very tricky. It is not a one person job. Perhaps part of the reason for the cheap price is that there is no real support keeping the shelves joined (vertically) together. It appears that it is the pressure of the weight of the higher shelves that keep the unit held together. There is no supporting brace. I hope my explanantion is clear enough; I don't know how else to explain the issue.

A bit tricky handling adding the upper supports. Got to have a helper taller then My 5foot 3 height. And was disappointed with the thickness of the partial board shelving inserts. But after getting it put together this thing is solid and stronger then my all metal ones.

The racks are quite sturdy and relatively easy to set up; however, note that the racks come without couplers. If you don't have the couplers you cannot have four equal size bin openings and assembly is much more difficult. The couplers should at a minimum offer the option to purchase the coulplers in the same sales advertisement.

Many years ago we originally bought some Gorilla rack shelving and were very happy with them. So much so that I went back to Sams Club to get some more for my hobby room. While I didn't need the weight rating that they have I figured I might as well get the heavy duty shelving so we can use them elsewhere (garage, storage etc) at a later date. Looks like they are now selling the Edsal Shelves instead. You won't be disappointed. They are very hardy and are practically the same except for the cost. I got the two pack which was a nice option to purchase.
