Needs feet and better instructions.

Relatively easy to put together, after I looked up some Youtube videos, the instructions left out a couple key points. However, the parts also come apart fairly easily. Probably won't be a problem once the shelves are weighted down with stuff, but it was a problem as I was trying to get it into place. And I really wish it came with some sort of plastic or rubber "feet" - the bare metal of the posts made some serious dents in my wooden shed floor just during the assembly.

Size and price are great but the boards are bad

It is supposed to hold up to 800lbs per shelf if you distribute weight evenly. Well it doesn't or at very least it bows badly in the center. The boards that come with are only 1/2"particle board and without support in the center it sags. So we had to buy a sheet of plywood and cut to fit which fixed the problem. Also assembly of the top section of the racks to the bottom section was a major pain in the butt. Definitely could not do it with just one person. Other than that, for those minor issues, the price and size was ideal.

WEAK Rack

It's called "Muscle Rack" and it looks like other racks that are identical that I purchased at Home Depot. The picture is the same, and the name both are misleading. These racks are NOT folded metal, only one ply. They are quite weak. The wood is the thinnest possible particle board and came broken at every end (powdered). I put them together hoping that they would be fine but the metal bowed out (only 1 ply and not strong) and the thin particle wood shelving bent down under very little weight. Picture the metal bowing out and the wood bowing down. I have no idea how to begin to return these items so I feel like I am stuck with them. They are only staying up because of the items placed on the racks bottom to top help support the rack above it. They are almost useless and will have to be replaced with the higher quality stuff. These are great if you intend to stack nothing but feathers or empty boxes on them. We are stuck with $200 worth of thin, weak shelving. Look for the same thing with folded metal and thick wood or hard plastic insert shelving.

VERY bad design

There is NOTHING beside a couple of rivets holding the top and bottom verticles together - and those rivets VERY on how tight they are and positioning. VERY VERY BAD RISKY FALL APART design. DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK! Additionally, the "z beams" stick up ABOVE the boards of the shelves, makes it a pain getting heavier items on or off the shelving.

Does Not Support Advertised Weight

I've just purchased this unit and installed it in my garage. The capacity as advertised is 800lbs. per shelf, 4000lb. total. I even elected to split the unit horizontally as opposed to all 5 shelves vertically. I placed leftover tile boxes on the bottom shelf, totaling 500lbs. (I even weighed the boxes of tile to make sure I was under the limit) and the bottom shelf buckled. The weight was evenly distributed as they said to do (see picture). It's a cheap product made from thin aluminum and particle board shelves. The side supports bowed out and the particle board broke. I'm taking this back and buying a more robust product. Do not buy this product if you plan on getting anywhere close to the weight rating!

The perfect solution for my garage storage

I'm so pleased with the storage these shelves provide for product storage in my garage. I bought 4 units. They are very heavy when delivered (almost 50 lbs each I think) so I got a workout, but was able to put them together by myself (57-year-old female). There was one rail that was damaged on delivery, but a quick email to product support resulted in a new part being shipped right away. I especially liked the value - a great price for the quality.

Buyer beware. Will need more parts to work.

Do not buy! Does not setup like shown its essentially two small shelves. The rivets are to small spaced to take a double layer of the corners brackets. ( Even tho the instructions say to do this.). I can't send it back now so I'm going to the hardware store to buy bolts. Save yourself the aggravation and money and buy something better.

Good for the price

These are decent shelves for the price. Very easy to assemble. I purchased 6 and had all of them put together in record time... no nuts or bolts required... just a rubber mallet. I used 2 shelves back to back for depth and found they hold heavy file boxes with ease. The only problem I encountered was with one of the side frames, the "hole punch" got off track on one of the bars which made it impossible to line up. Fortunately it only happened on a few holes and I was able to adjust the shelves to a different height. Overall, they are lightweight yet sturdy and the shelves are easy to adjust. I was pleased with the end result.

Biggest piece of junk ever!

The middle shelf joint is the only thing holding the soft metal uprights together. The actual shelves are weak 3/8" thick particleboard that would surely break with slightly more than a gallon of fluid placed in the middle. This is the most misleading ad for a utility shelf I have ever seen! I did not even get half way done with the assembly before I scrapped the whole unit. My friends would beat me up for recommending this pile. I am so angry with myself for purchasing this junk. I want my money back! WASTE OF MONEY!! DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK!!
