Great for storing of lightweight items

The 24" deep shelves work great for storing lightweight items. Would not use for anything heavy over 25lbs for example. They are easy to assemble with a rubber mallet and are quite sturdy once together however the particle board shelving will not support any heavy items and I am afraid will warp if in to humid of a environment or excessive weight.

Great shelf for the price

As like most negative reviews on here my box arrived damaged, but what do you expect with a package over 100lbs shipped via FedEx or UPS. The shelf itself is great, the shelves are made with a particle board so it will bow a little with too much weight on it. I have purchased two of them and they are fantastic and work perfectly though.

Adequate Shelving - So Far

The shelving unit was easy to assembly. I could almost assemble it myself. The shelves are rather thin, but I suppose that could be remedied by supplying my own thicker boards. I am a little concerned that the vertical supports are two pieces on each corner instead of one piece. This requires the third shelf to be placed at the joint between the top and bottom halves of the unit. This was the hardest part of the assembly, and I needed my wife to hold the top vertical supports in place while I snapped the horizontal supports of the third shelve in place. The shelf hasn't fallen down yet. I would be less concerned if the shelves were a bit thicker, and if the vertical supports were one piece instead of two.

Great, sturdy shelving - easy to assemble.

We are very pleased with these shelves for storage in our basement. We put these together (two people) in about 15 minutes for the first one, and 10 minutes for each of the remainder. We initially bought three and decided to buy another because we had more stuff we wanted to organize. They feel very sturdy and have an enormous capacity. I like that where you place the shelves is for the most part according to your preference however once the unit is fully assembled, you can't move any of the shelves. Additionally, the middle shelf has a fixed spot it must be in because it is what holds the seam of the vertical legs together. A word of caution - make note of the shipping weight! These boxes were very heavy and awkward to move into our basement (almost 100lbs each!). Measure your space carefully and be sure these will fit and work for you because you don't want to have to return them!

Sturdy and stable

Make sure you use these shelving units in a dry location as they are particle board. Ther are very sturdy when properly constructed. Construction is a bit tricky and does require two people. Great habits for the price and will serve the purpose intended. I give it a four star rating because the shelves are a bit thin and of particle board.

Great Rack, Tricky Vertical Assembly

This Muscle Rack came in a very small box. Very easy to put together. I assembled mine without skipping the first hole on the bottom. Unfortunately, the directions were not very helpful when it came to adding the second vertical piece to the one below it. Thankfully someone posted a Youtube video which shows and explains how you "join" the pieces. Basically, the horizontal piece attaches to BOTH bottom-vertical AND the top-vertical pieces, bottom-hole and top-hole. Easier to do with two people, but I managed. Without the Youtube video I would not have figured this out. I would have given this product 5-stars IF their directions at this critical juncture was CLEARLY ILLUSTRATED. I love the rack. Thanks for helping me organize a bunch of stuff, Muscle Rack. You made my home more efficient. Thank you.

Edsal 5-Shelf Steel Shelving, Black

This shelving unit was easy enough to put together following the instructions provided. It took me 2 hours and a rubber mallet. I would recommend putting the 3rd shelf (wood) in before the 1st and 2nd. Be careful as the "wood" is just fiber board, not solid wood (in other words, don't pound with rubber mallet on "wood" to fit the wood in or else it might break/splinter).

Terrific Value for Sturdy Shelving

I bought this for my science class storage room to place experimental setups/ equipment and many other items I use. It's wonderful! It really helped me organize so much of my "stuff" and make it easier to get to. I highly recommend them! A heads-up though... what you get , is all you can get. Additional shelving for purchase is NOT available anywhere. We looked. I was hoping to add a shelf but unable to find them anywhere.

Nice Item for the Price

I like this a lot, read some of the negative reviews, but really have no issues. The box arrived in good shape, all pieces there and nothing damaged. Put together by myself in about an hour, had my wife help me once to hold when connected bottom and top sections. The shelf wood is not the greatest quality, but should be more than enough for what is needed. Plus cost is excellent.

4000 lb. rated capacity is a joke

I bought this rack for primary purpose of storing 3D printer filament spools. Each spool is 2.4 pounds (1Kg filament and packaging). Although I keep them to the edges as that's the strongest area (presumably) and have loaded from the bottom up, by the time I put things on the 4th shelf, it's so bowed in the middle that I'm concerned for safety. I have 34 spools on that shelf, which is a maximum of 81 pounds considering that some of the spools have been partially used. The tilt towards the middle is quite apparent. The bottom 3 shelves each have 40 spools, again all around the edges. That's less than 100 pounds per shelf and all are bowing to some degree. The rails do not seem to be the problem, although there is a tiny bit of bow and twist to each in the middle of the long sides. The MDF shelving in this size just cannot provide enough strength to hold the supposed rated weight.
