Good product needs revised directions

Great finished product. Final star withheld because of assembly problem adding top tier. It can't be done by following printed directions. Telephone contact tried to help but her suggestion didn't work. I solved the problem by partially assembling the upper tier from the top down and then adding that to the bottom.

Great price/good quality

This rack is less expensive than the ones at my local home improvement store. It IS of a slightly thinner gauge material, but I am not storing cinder blocks on it. The plus for me was to have the options of it being shipped to the store for free. Saved me money and I don't have to worry about packages sitting unattended until I get home from work.

EDSAL Storage Shelf Doesn't Make the Grade

Quite disappointed in the quality of this shelf. Thought it would be more sturdy - based on EDSAL's line of products. Don't plan on storing heavy items on this shelf as the particle board is less than 1/2". The vertical supports also come in two pieces (splice in the middle) which compromises the structural integrity of the unit.

Good but they could have easily made it perfect

The rack is big and easy to assemble. I did not give it the highest score for two reasons: 1. the thickness of the wooden shelves is smaller than I thought; the rack is big and so it's meant for big items, I would have expected and preferred thicker shelves - just 2-3 mm more - to better support what I want to store on them 2. the rack has no plastic or rubber pads at the bottom. I have tiles in my garage and i had to cut some wooden plates to make sure the feet of the rack will not scratch the floor. I bought similar racks in the past and they had plastic pads to be easily fitted at the bottom of the vertical angles. I would have gladly spent a few bucks more and have those pads (I am sure 5$ would have covered their cost)

Both boxes damaged - one got sent back to Arkansas

I ordered 2 of the same shelves - one said damaged in the tracking and when I go there was a big hole in box and metal pieces were falling out when I carried it in house 2nd one got sent back to Walmart in Arkansas - when it finally came it also had a hole. One was missing the instructions which would have been a real problem if I did not order 2. It also had bent poles which we were able to straighten - all in all not a great experience

Excelleny Shelving

Easy to assemble. No screws or bolts. Large storage capacity with the ability to handle normal weight on each shelf. This is not intended to be industrial shelving but it is very strong and stable. Two people can assemble everything in less than 30 minutes. Because of the size one person may have minor difficulty assembling it in less than an hour.

Easy to Assemble

This shelf is quick and easy to put together. The only tool required is a rubber mallet. I was happy with how little time it took to put together. Check the dimensions. The shelves are LARGE for the price. This shelving set is heavy (due mostly the particle board shelves), and as others observed, comes in a weak cardboard box. My box also arrived taped together. All parts are large. Nothing was missing. Because of the particle board shelves (there is a concern that particle board may emit fumes), this is item is still a good choice for uninhabited areas, like the garage or basement. I would have preferred plywood or metal shelves. Replacing the particle board with plywood might be a good do-it-yourself project if you want to use this in an inhabited area.

.

We have purchased 4 of this Muscle Rack unit, great for storage in the garage. They look nice and holds heavy items and 3 storage tubs fit nicely on a shelf. BUT, the 4 column supports are 2 pieces not one piece like a unit we bought a couple of years ago. To stabilize this unit we bought angel iron. Cut it into 4 inch pieces, with 4 nuts and bolts and washers in each joint. Otherwise it would be iffy to keep the two pieces on top of each other and then the shelving unit could be in jeopardy. This is why I'm giving it 4 stars.

love this shelf

I bought two of these to use out in our shed. They are very sturdy and hold a lot more than I thought. My only complaint is it was hard to put this together by myself. Definitely a two man job. But other than that I love how easy it is to fit a ton of stuff on the shelves and not have to worry about them collapsing or falling over.

Great Shelf for price, will buy again

I really like the shelf and so does the wife. I wouldn't recommend putting a lot of heavy items in the center because it is 1/4'? fiber board. The middle shelf is where you make a very important connection it will require two people to pull this off. I absolutely hate how they did this connection but so far so good on everything holding together. Overall I will buy another in the future.
