Nothing like the picture

I was excited to receive the storage items for the price I paid it looked great in the picture but the wood it comes with is all cracked up on the corners and honestly couldn't hold a paint can without denting in the shelf and that's a 1 gallon paint can all the metal is paperthin even the one running up and down the sides it's really thin I don't know how they sell this claiming it could hold 1000 pounds i've always been happy with Walmart but this is definitely I do not buy it's even my first review

sturdy, solid built but dimension is not accurate

strong and sturdy. solid built. you can feel it when you build this. the beam are heavy duty! one thing I got to complain is the size. it was listed as 48" long anf 24" wide".. i got exactly 4 of these to fit into my room. but the dimensions is half inch longer both ways.. now I can only fit 3 of these.. other than that. a few of the particular board got broken corner. mine did came with couplings which is a good thing.

Shelving rack capacity

I bought this to store can food on. The first problem is the side rails are in 2 pieces. They are no more than 1/8" thick. 1 rail sits on top of the other. There is nothing to keep them in place. Rails bend easy & can get out of alignment. The other problem is the shelves are thin press board. Literally no strength. I had 144 cans of food in 16 ounce cans on a shelf. My wife came to get me later. I had to unload half of them to get sag out of shelf. Going tomorrow to buy plywood to replace these junk shelves.

Hard to install, made for light storage

Assembly was harder than expected. A lot of hammer pounding. They say light tap, but there's no way the bars are going in tapping lightly. Had to use a real hammer and put rags on top and really pound it in. There's no way it can support the claimed weight unless the weight rests on the bars. Put less than 100 lbs on the panels and it's going to bend. What a waste.

I like the two I bought and, at this price, will buy two more. Easy for two people to assemble. I wouldn't try it alone, though. Really helped to organize my garage. I choose to have it shipped and, although the boxes came damaged, only a few of the shelves had very minor corner damage. The boxes are very heavy though and I will have to have them shipped again. Not going to try to put them in my little Chevy Cruz!

Unsafe & Terrible Product

Simply put this product is awful even with less than 50 pounds per shelf. Firstly the construction of it while easy, was rather irritating to by your self it requires a second set of hands to hold parts in place while trying to place the metal beams that end up holding up the edges of the shelves. Second the design of the vertical post for the top half requires balance thin pieces of metal on top of the lower half. I see this as being just one weak point to the overall design. Next problem would be the beams and shelving material. The boards are flimsy and can easily break, and the beams flex when under load causing the shelving boards to fall off the beam and collapse onto the shelf below it. We purchased 5 of these units to store our extra inventory and placed 50-100 pounds per shelf. And we started to have trouble instantly with the boards sagging and falling off the beams. Finally we had two shelving units completely collapse. Starting with an upper shelf failing and causing a chain reaction to the bottom shelf crushing our inventory and destroying the shelving units in the process. The ONLY redeeming factor that these shelves has the customer service from Edsal themselves but even that is not worth buying these shelves. they are unsafe, poorly designed, and will collapse in less than 2 weeks with less than 15% of their load capacity. I can not stress enough that these shelves are unfit for sale and should be removed from the Sam's Club website.

shelving unit

This shelving unit was hard to set up. the extending posts were almost impossible to connect because the frame studs are not thick enough to lock into the existing post. It took me three hours to assemble and it still looks crooked. I got two of these on sale. I still have one more to assemble. I did call the customer service number for help and all I got in return was a copy of the assembly instructions which I already have. I'm not looking forward to assembly of the second unit.

Flimsy wood.

We bought this for our canned goods. It went together nicely, both my husband and I worked on it. I would definitely recommend two people to set it up although my husband told me he has put a shelf like this together by himself before. I'm a little disappointed with the wood. It's flimsy and bows in the middle. I have my cans of food storage and my own personal canned items on the shelves and I'm worried that the wood will slip out of the grooves on the side or that it will break in half. I'm considering getting stronger wood for my shelves.

it is ok

Shelf was delivered damaged, contacted Walmart and they returned 25% of the cost. It's strange that the vertical bars are two pieces so you have to have a shelf right at the middle. It's a little flimsy when you push on it if it's not right up in a corner, hopefully that will get better as it gets more on it. I would recommend it for the price. It's a great size and holds large totes. Overall I'm really happy I bought it.
