Best value of youth receive an undamaged set.

I purchased the two set bundle for in-store pickup and luckily received perfect sets. You can't beat the price for the amount of square feet in storage you get. I priced out building wooden shelves, but these were cheaper, adjustable, and portable just in case we move. They assembled easily and are sturdy enough for my needs (Costco water, 9' Christmas tree box, and other Costco stuff). I prefer plywood over the particle board it comes with, but I received a good set so hopefully they last long.

Ok

The rack was bigger than I expected which was a plus even the installation was ok until i reached the mid section where you had to connect the bottom half to the top. That was impossible and because of how it connects I'm terrified that if my small kids touch it, it may snap in half and fall on them. The pieces are heavy so it should be a more secure connection.

Good for home storage.

Very easy to assemble! No screws, bolts; just need a hammer. Can use as one shelf, or make into two. Can also make into a shelf and desk. Only thing I didn't like was the shelving material -compressed wood. The shelving is highly absorbent to any liquid; must be covered (I used cabinet lining) before use to prevent permanent damage/stain (from spills, rain, sweaty fingers). The paint on metal chips off when hammering brackets/beams into place, even with using cushioned hammer head. The posts that hold it up must have something under to prevent damage to floor or keep from sinking, if used on ground. Good value for price. Not strong/sturdy enough for industrial use, but for home/garage hobby it's good.

Installation problem solved

The rack is great, pretty good quality for this price. I got this for around 60ish dollars in thanksgiving(discounted price). The only concern for everyone is the installation. Just youtube this product name and you will find someone showing you how to do it in 5 minutes. So forget about the manual and go straight to the YouTube video. It will save you a lot of time!

Size and price are great but the boards are bad

It is supposed to hold up to 800lbs per shelf if you distribute weight evenly. Well it doesn't or at very least it bows badly in the center. The boards that come with are only 1/2"particle board and without support in the center it sags. So we had to buy a sheet of plywood and cut to fit which fixed the problem. Also assembly of the top section of the racks to the bottom section was a major pain in the butt. Definitely could not do it with just one person. Other than that, for those minor issues, the price and size was ideal.

Perfected and exactly what I expected

Know that most of the complaints came from damaged corners I had it shipped to the store. No damage. The company, I think, has also taken steps to protect all parts. It was easy to build. I had my 5 year old girl helping me. It is heavy to carry, but not horrible. I was able to do it by myself.

It's shelves

The shelves and construction makes it easy to put together and can support reasonable amount of weight. The shelves is made of compressed wood so Over time the would warp from the weight of tools and other heavy items. Once you set this up you can't move it the rails serve as legs and will bend. So set it up in place n forget it.

Nice shelves and great value

I bought three Edsal 48"W x 24"D x 72"H 5-Shelf Steel Shelving on a rollback and they were delivered today. My son and I assembled them using just a rubber mallet in a little over two hours. They are sturdy and will last for many years. I am very pleased with the purchase, their appearance and their utility.

Good quality, good price.

Very good quality for the price. Easy assembly with the exception of the part where you have to connect the bottom vertical corners with the top, it's a bit tricky, maybe easier with 2 people. Also, FYI the particle board is only 3/8" thick, but it works for me. I would purchase more if I had the room.

these are the lower quality version

We bought 8 shelving units for our storage unit, all branded as Edsal "muscle shelf" and realized only once building them that there are two different models of the same size being marketed in almost identical boxes, and one is much better than the other. --- The black shelves are the lower quality ones - thinner particle board, flimsier shelf supports, a pronounced lip at the edge where the shelf support was taller than the shelf, no interior packing sleeve for the metal pieces leading to a large number of bent and twisted pieces. -- The almost identical shelves we purchased at a different store for some of the units had heavier particle board, heavier cross pieces, shelves that lie flush with lip of cross brace, with shelf supports and uprights packed in an interior cardboard sleeve to prevent damage. These higher quality (but no more expensive) shelves were also grey rather than black in color. There is a third model that is easier to tell apart where the "holes" in the uprights are covered over so you cant see through them - those are also heavy, high quality and well packed, but expensive. Just be careful if purchasing to watch out for the black, you-can-see-through-the-holes type. Like these. Even though they are made by Edsal, they are not the same as they grey ones and not as good. -- I have had the grey type in my garage for many years now - as long as you are sure to ALWAYS support the shelves with the metal cross pieces (never try to use alone) I have not had any problem with sagging or warping - actually a little difficult to envision how they *could* sag given the way they are supported on all edges by steel... I would definitely recommend the grey shelves - good value for the money. I would not buy the black you-can-see-through-the-hole type again.
