Ordered the shelves online. got to the store to pickup and realized they probably weren't as heavy duty as advertised by the size and weight of the cartons they were packaged in. Put one shelf together that night by myself, but would suggest an extra set of hands to help hold the rails putting the pieces together. The unit wasn't as heavy as I thought it should be from the description when I ordered it, but once everything is connected and the MDF boards are put in, is sufficient for most garage storage items. Wouldn't use it to store an engine block or even cylinder heads, but for crates or heavier items, as long as the weight is distributed out over most of the shelf, should be just fine. I got two units for right around $120 and for that price was a decent value considering same sized commercial quality shelving would have cost twice that.

Moderately easy to assemble, but lacked corner to corner strength. Frame started to torque after approximately 40 pounds stored on three shelves. Let the load sit over night and the torqueing increased. Returned to store for credit. I've had a similar (same manufacturer - different size) for over 5 years without a problem.

If you allow a shipping company to deliver this to you , don't be surprised when it arrives damaged. Order it site-to-store and pick it up yourself. The boxes are in better shape in my experience _AND_ should there be a big tear in the box, you can open it up right there and see if the shelves are damaged.

Very easy to put together (no tools required, but a rubber mallet can be handy) and pretty sturdy once it's all done. I wish the boards were a bit thicker and the posts fit together with tongue/groove instead of just sitting on top of each other, but other than those small gripes, pretty good bang for the buck. I bought 5 of these because the price was right. I also bought 3 of the MR482472BLB units which showed the clear difference. The way the legs are spliced together makes them a pain to put together. If they came as one 72" leg it would make the unit much easier to deal with and a lot stronger. The other units I bought have a piece of metal that splices the two sections together and make putting them together a easy one man job. I am surprised that the comments seam to indicate people like this unit better.

First off these shelves are awesome!! With that said we ordered and sent back 2 boxes that arrived damaged with broken pieces inside. We have 3 of them now but we only order them to be shipped to our local Walmart now and we haven't had a problem since. Do your self a favor from the beginning and just ship to your local store. They really are fantastic shelves at a great price!

I purchased two of these shelves to put in our garage. Our garage had no shelving, so everything was pretty much scattered on the floor, leaving no room for my car. I was a little leery about buying these because other reviewers had mentioned that their shelves had arrived in disarray. However, since the price of these shelves beat out similar units online and in big box stores by at least $30 per unit, I decided to try it out. They arrived quickly after my purchase, but as other had mentioned - the boxes were pretty much torn apart. Fortunately once I inspected all the pieces they seemed to be in decent shape (some of the wooden shelves were scratched up, but since it was for my garage, I wasn't too concerned). They were pretty easy to put together. I was able to put most of it together on my own, but did require a second pair of hands to connect the bottom connection to the top connection. I liked them so much, I ordered a third box so I can have some extra storage room. Be careful when opening (what left of) the boxes - the metal can be pointy in spots - also the box is very heavy, it is best if two people move it. (This is why they charge you the $5 for shipping, even though it should technically be free - it was totally worth getting it delivered though!). So, overall, if you can get over the boxes being torn up when they arrive, the shelves so their job in the garage and totally worth the price.

Super easy to assemble. Very sturdy. My only complaint is that there's no way to make all of the shelves evenly spaced and also have enough room to put large plastic tubs on every shelf. Wish I had bought the four-shelf unit so that I could have those big plastic tubs on every shelf.

The unit is poorly designed to pretty much assure you will not be able to take advantage of the space it could have to offer. Between the too thick cross brackets and the lack of connecting brace between the two height bars, you lose almost an entire foot of space that could fit larger containers and boxes. I have been able to use more space on a similar unit that has only 4 shelves. Terrible design.

This might be a decent storage unit but the way it is packaged for shipping is a joke.It arrived a ll taped up and missing some of the parts. I will be shipping it back as soon as I can box it up, the s ame as they shipped it to me, What a joke, I should have believed the reviews that I read on this item, a waste of time for all involved
