Edsal shelving

The pressboard is a bit damaged. The steel angles are a tad thicker than paper and can be twisted by hand very easy. Thicker angles would make these a much better set of shelving. 10 years ago I purchased similar shelving and they were 50 percent heavier, and the corners could not be twisted by hand, and I still have almost 30 of those sets and they look like new after 30 years, the paint on the new units are already chipping off. Sometimes older is better, and stronger

ok

Overall, the unit is fine, but a couple corners were cut to keep the price low which now that I know, I will be willing to pay a little more in the future to get a more secured frame and better quality shelves. the most difficult part was connecting the upper corner bars with the lower. Definitely easier if you have two people doing this part, but I did this myself which made it far more difficult to assemble than a similar unit I assembled from another manufacturer which had connectors to secure the top and bottom sections.

Great item for the price, but you get what you pay for. This is a perfectly serviceable shelving unit, but it lacks some features like feet on the top or bottom of the 4 uprights. But more importantly, it's important to get the installation of the top uprights to the bottom uprights exactly right--the whole thing is rickety until every last piece and shelf is in place, and then it feels more secure.

Challenging to Put Together

I have purchased other similar shelves. These were by far more difficult to put together. With the other shelves, I could put them together by myself. With these shelves, two of us struggled to put the units together; three pairs of hands would have been ideal. This is because the metal pieces aren't as hefty as other units. Once assembled, the unit works okay. Comparatively, the price was more favorable.

Excellent Shelves for the price

These shelves are easy to put together and are very sturdy. They are excellent for the price. There are similar shelves on Amazon at a much higher price. I have purchased 9 of these shelves for my new home. It feels so great to have these large and roomy shelves to help organize my garage.

Muscle Rack 48"W x 24"D x 72"H 5-Shelf Steel Shelv

The storage rack is solid. I wish the shelves were stronger than just pressed wood. Maybe that is why the price is good. The installation is very easy, but sometimes you feel that you need four hands to keep the shelf from falling apart. The overall quality is good for a very affordable price.

Muscle Racks a real WINNER ! ! !

Muscle Racks were easy to put together using just a rubber mallet. The shelves can be adjusted to different heights to accommodate clear plastic storage bins of different sizes...that are also available at Walmart. The racks have new brackets for attaching the top to the bottom half of the rack...it was a breeze connecting together. I loaded up the shelving with hundreds of lbs. of tools and supplies....they're rated at 4,000 pounds although I wouldn't want to test that load. I also fastened them to the wall with screws to prevent them from falling oven in event of an earthquake. Since my racks were located in a carport area and may be subject to humidity and moisture I suggest coating the particle board with a thin layer of Polyurethane...or other oil based paint. The Muscle Racks were a real bargain for $110 dollars for two racks delivered. Please note: each rack weighs 100 lbs. so Walmart's Free Delivery was a no brainer ! ! !

Great shelf, great price.

Spent about an hour researching shelves on line before I made this purchase. 3 other stores carry this exact shelf for $20 to $30 more plus higher costs to ship to home. This is the best deal I could find. I bought 1 shelf to check it out before buying more. It's sturdy with a lot of storage space and decent vertical clearance for big items. It's not the best quality shelf on the market, but it does the job I needed it to do...hold my stuff. It'll do fine for most anything, unless you're storing gold bars. In that case, sell a bar, and buy a heavier-duty shelf. The shelf arrived in a very heavy box. The box had some big dents, but that didn't affect the parts inside. Assembly is required, but nothing hard to understand. It'll be much easier if you have someone help you assemble and move the shelf into position. The completed shelf is difficult to move due to its size and weight. I plan to buy 2 more of these shelves for my garage.

Storage shelves

The shelving is easy to assemble once you have all of the necessary parts. It is shipped without couplers (that are not on the packing list but are referred to in the assembly instructions) and when you call the manufacturer they know about this but still ship the shelving this way.

Shelf for my Home Staging Studio

1. Make sure to put the side rails on in the correct direction in the first place and 2. This is not hand assembly only, it definitely requires a rubber mallet. It will definitely take 2 people to assemble. Not because it's heavy but because you have to balance multiple corners at the same time. The most complicated part BY FAR is overlapping the vertical corner bars to install the middle shelf. For us it worked best to only use one bracket hole worth of overlap *rather than two which would be more sturdy* with the bottom corner pole on the outside (and top corner pole on the inside). It still did not line up absolutely perfectly but we will never be putting anything very heavy on these shelves. I will be using it for my Home Staging inventory studio--I purchased because it had flat wood shelves (rather than metal wire racks) so small or oddly shaped jars, glasses and vases could sit flat on the surface.
