Price too good to be true. This is crap.

I have no idea how this thing has a 4 star rating. I guess I'll go back to Amazon, where I can at least somewhat trust the ratings. Don't buy it. It's totally unstable - like a jenga tower. The beams and shelves aren't held together with screws. They are held together by gravity. The corner posts come in 2 parts, which again, aren't actually screwed to one another. The shelves are particle board (which explains the ridiculous weight of the package they come in), and are already crumbling at the corners when you get them out of the box. Finally, no diagonal cross beams. I'm going to try to return this, and if I cannot I will leave it on the curb next trash day.

Great Size, difficult build!!!

This item is a great size for many sizes of items. It basically comes in two pieces you must try to connect with a shelf in the middle! So the bottom half is very easy to assemble, even the top half would be easy to assemble, but any attempt at putting the two together is a complicated job and can become frustrating very quickly!!! But it is possible, since I only have use of One arm, you may be able to accomplish this task much easier than I was able too!!! Good Luck!

Assembly is Maddening!

Once it was together it seems to be sturdy and stable and will be great storage for our garage. But for all those reviews who said it was "easy" to assemble, they must be crazy. It took 2 of us to put the thing together AND the instructions were less than helpful. If you're having difficulty putting this together look at some of the pictures others have posted of the up close shelves, that should help.

Great Value

I had to replace my plastic shelves with these as they stated Muscle Rack so I knew they would be more supportive of the food stock items I was going to store. The particle board however was a bit thinner than what I was needing so I went out and had a double thickness cut to fit the grooves to replace these. We have a lot of soup cans and groceries we need to keep for the year as we buy bulk and need our storage to stack. Good value for these shelving units!

NO REPONSE

I ordered two of these shelving units. One came with a wrong size BRACE. On February 23, 2015 I used Edsal's email contact for customer service. To date March3, 2015, I have not received any response. I've tried their customer service telephone number, several times, good luck contacting them by phone. Because all the parts of the shelving unit interlock to stabilize the shelving unit. I'm reluctant to use the one unit for fear it will collapse without the BRACE that it is missing. So, as of today I have a shelving unit I'm unable to utilize because the manufacturer EDSAL has not responded to my attempts to contact them. There are other manufacturer's who offer similar shelving units and should I have a need for other shelves, I will probably try another manufacturer other than EDSAL.

Shipped fast in great condition! Awesome shelf

My husband and I built three in less than an hour. All you need is a hammer. The design is so simple and straightforward! Just pay attention to directions of pieces! Haha (Hardest part is the middle fixed shelf, it's a little awkward and helps to have two people) That was the only disappointing part. I didn't realize a shelf in the middle was fixed so it messed up my spacing plans a bit. Otherwise I love love love them! I haven't even finished organizing my garage and it already looks a million times better and cleaner

Damaged and missing part

Package was damaged upon arrival. Corners of wooden shelves damaged. Instructions were wadded up and torn. Cardboard packaging inside box to protect parts during shipping was also wadded up and torn. Missing one of the couplers so not able to assemble full shelving unit. Disappointed.

Excellent price but manage expectations

Overall these are excellent shelves for storage challenges, they're decent size and hold up over time with light to moderate use. However, I own eight shelves like this which I've acquired over a several-year period – just bought three more – and I've noticed a visible change in quality over the years. You can tell which ones I bought five years ago, three years ago, last year and most recently. The wood shelving has gotten much thinner (it'll likely break if you put your weight dead-center while mounted in the frame) and the steel frame pieces are quite bendy and don't align out-of-the-box. I had to use my mallet to gently shape the corners so they would align and mate properly. This was very disappointing and compared to the identical shelves I bought years ago, they look like two separate models – years ago the same model was truly heavy duty, and has devolved into light duty application shelving. However, I still like them quite a bit and they have their purpose in my storage system. I still recommend them, just don't exceed the specifications, and definitely don't get the wood wet or spill any cleaners/oils on them or they'll swell up first and then disintegrate like cheap cardboard.

Does anyone have a phone number or some other form of communications for the sellers of this? Mine was missing the brackets (as ive seen this happens to a lot of people) so id like to contact them so i can get those shipped to me. Overall, the quality is what i would expect for the price paid. Seems sturdy enough for some totes

Hard Earned Money Wasted

I needed to wait 24 hours before I wrote this review, one because I was so angry and two because my hand was still numb from the stitches. The box came damaged along with two shelves(cheap particle board), the one sheet instructions offered no help in affixing the post joint(youtubed a video and found one where even a tall burly man fought to put this thing together), so as my 5 foot self feverishly attempted to hold the posts and side supports together enough to get it"tapped" into place, I wasn't prepared to keep all hands and fingers away from the posts that have a repeated tendency to slide out of the rivets and, in my case, cut my hand open. Once the neighbor heard my trucker-like cursing rant and came to assist, even he had a rather difficult time not taking a hammer to the entire project. Truthfully, I doubt this will hold the few boxes and misc items that I need it to for a long period of time. The posts are nowhere near thick and stable and the thin flimsy boards might last six months before they bow . Truthfully Edsal should be ashamed of this product and for taking peoples hard earned money. Spend the extra $40 and go to Lowes-the frames and thick steel and have joint supports.
