Beautiful TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been living with my new OLED55C8PUA for about three weeks now and we're loving it. The display is absolutely stunning when viewing full 4K content. Only thing lacking, and something I fully expected, is the sound. The built in speakers are underwhelming, even though LG boasts about how god they are. Watching movies from the built in speakers makes it difficult to hear dialog in louder action-style movies and my now outdated surround system doesn't support 4K, ARC and Atmos.I'm now looking for a soundbar to complete the package and then this will be a perfect setup. If you're looking for a wonderful OLED, look no further. The thing is a thing of beauty!

Stunning color and sharpness!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I read a lot about LG OLEDs prior to my purchase and couldn't imagine that expectations could possibly be met, but I was shocked and amazed by the colors and sharpness of the 4K OLED screen. I was further impressed by the TVs ability to upscale 1080p content. I even put on a 50th anniversary blu-ray edition of The Sound of Music to see how it would look, and it looked like a contemporary movie on this TV! Very impressed. By far the best TV experience I've ever had. That magic remote is pretty advanced as well. The universal remote pairing functionality is better than any I've seen and the cursor pointer was like a Wii remote. Super handy!

Great Picture

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our other TV died so we were forced into a purchase...we did not want to spend as much as we did but the picture and refresh rate really sold us, we are now hoping it last longer than our other one. The pointer and menu are a little different and a bit of a trial to get used to but it works. We didn't get a lot of instructions with this just a small booklet without a lot of user information but the set up was easy on screen. We can't say enough about the picture but we would suggest a sound system, we already had one so it wasn't an issue. We have it free standing in a wall unit and it was about 30 minutes to put together and set up.

Amazing image and user friendly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this TV for about a month. This is my first 4K OLED and I'm very impressed! The controls are easy to use. I've not used the voice command much yet... it's hard to get used to the idea :-). One problem I've been having is that Netflix and Curiosity Stream hang some times when loading a video. I have to back out to home then come back in. It's a minor annoyance that I'm sure will be fixed. To be fair these issues may be with the streaming service and not the TV's OS. However, the fact that two different ones are doing it causes me to think it's the TV. The pointer cursor on the TV is very good, gives a good feel of communication with the TV's interface. Only think that can get annoying is that the on-screen cursor gets out of synch with where you're pointing it. It's easy to re-align though.

Great Tv with a rediculous UNLIT REMOTE

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] BOUGHT in NOV 2018 OLED is incredible, but he remote is rediculous. No illumination with TINY buttons. Not made for use in a real home theater environment. UPGRADE THE REMOTE!!!!

Reference Image - But Lacking Content

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best display I've ever seen. But the “award winning” WebOS lacks content. No HBO GO, Tidal, regular cable channel apps. I wouldn't take off star if LG didn't put so much emphasis on the OS.

Good, but becomes pixelated in dark scenes

Overall it's a pretty good TV. I do noitice that during dark scenes (Stranger Things), it was as if the tv was trying to figure out the different levels of black, and became pixelated. The pixels were clear as day. I have a terrible time ignoring it. Hoping a firmware upgrade will correct this issue.

The Best TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very satisfied with my purchase. When I first turned it on I wasn't fully happy till I found the adjustment for power savings. It was in the Eco setting which powers down the picture settings. After putting it in regular mode it came alive! The features, picture quality are as close to perfect as you will find.

Amazing Picture!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never knew Potus was that that orange! We upgraded from an old 40" 720P TV to this amazing work of art. Even when turned off it looks amazing. Set up was a breeze, as was mounting it on the wall. I read many reviews online suggesting turning off power saving for a brighter picture...that's good advice. 4K and regular content is fantastic. I wasted no time upgrading Netflix to 4K. Blu-ray is incredible as well. Now for the bad; I was a little disappointed at having to remove the stand to mount it on the wall...I thought the stand completed the look of the TV. I also deducted a star for the awful sound quality. At this price, it should have been better. And the fact that even thought I can use the magic remote to control the volume on my Bose 3-2-1, it will not turn the Bose on or off even though it has the capability to do so (When setting up the Bose device, you can turn the Bose on and off but not after it's set up). Tech support is pretty useless.

Great picture

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently replaced my 2.5 year old 50" Sharp 4K Smart TV, where the display started to malfunction, with this LG OLED 55" 4K Smart TV. WOW, what a display this LG OLED has! My only gripe is the optical audio output should always remain active for all audio modes, with whatever higher level audio (i.e. 5.1) is available. When I switch the TV to internal speakers and optical audio, the optical audio is only 2 channel PCM, even though the audio available is 5.1 (i.e. when I set to optical audio only). Also, there are too many USB ports, I'd rather have another HDMI port.
