In short, this is a great product, exceptionally easy to install and functions well enough that we decided to purchase a second. After choosing to go with Eufy's camera products for our new home, we opted to add this smart lock to our back door given that it's the one we use the most. We were also intrigued/hopeful about the fingerprint reader - with a toddler, fumbling with keys trying to get in, especially if carrying groceries, is a tedious process, and we wanted this to make life easier. Ultimately, it has done just that while providing peace of mind at all hours. The installation process is remarkably simple and the app walks you through it step by step. We found the provided strikeplate to not fit on our doorframe correctly so we left the existing plate, which caused no issues. I would absolutely recommend using the Eufy app rather than relying on Home alone (or any other Matter-connected system). The app provides far more options to customize to your needs/wants, including adding numerous entry codes and fingerprints, as well as guest-specific codes. Adding fingerprints is quite simple and closely resembles the process from older iPhone fingerprint scanning. However, keep in mind how you expect to actually scan your finger when (un)locking. The scanner works well and does learn better over time, but it is still a bit sensitive so if I try to put my thumb over it sideways or upside down, it often rejects the read because I scanned it upward originally. An easy workaround is simply adding additional prints for those respective fingers from different angles. However, it's more important for security purposes to use the app simultaneously with Home/Matter because the app is more reliable and consistent. I have never had the device disconnect from Home or not be reachable/usable, but I don't always get notifications when the door (un)locks from Home. The Eufy app is more reliable in this way, not only pushing alerts immediately but also notifying who is doing it when it happens from outside (by fingerprint) or how it failed. I believe some of their newer premium locks perform better with Matter in this way, but ultimately it's not a deterrent for me given that Home still consistently shows the status and allows me to (un)lock the door directly, and I use the app already for the other Eufy products. In all, although not always flawless in execution, the lock works really well. The battery is long lasting still showing full bars of charge after two full months of use, and the fingerprint reader is a nice addition that works on first try the majority of the time but the personalized codes are a phenomenal backup with a key as a tertiary option. We purchased a second lock recently for our other door simply to add the peace of mind knowing when the doors are locked, as well as being able to autolock at night. I'd highly recommend, ESPECIALLY if you're already bought into the Eufy system.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The home system I never knew I needed! I am currently redoing my mudroom and a new smart lock was a perfect addition! Very similar to the key less locks used at Air BnB’s, and easy to install. I love the feature of having an app on your phone to be able to unlock your door. Hands full of groceries? Unlock your door from your car! My only concern would be that the battery life only lasts for a certain amount of time. I believe a little over a year so after a year, you would have to change the battery I believe.

I like that you can unlock it with your phone,(apple), or with a physical key. It alerts you when the door has been unlocked. I would recommend this product. Great quality and easy install.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our old traditional front door lock was getting hard to turn, and we like to go out and walk without taking our keys, so this Eufy Smart Lock was an easy decision. I love that we can get in with just a fingerprint or a code; the fingerprint scan is super helpful for when our hands are full! The app was really easy to use and integrates with other Eufy products. Our security cameras and doorbell are another brand, but I would definitely consider a switch to Eufy so everything communicates with each other. You can set a different passcode for everyone in your family, and the app also has an option to set a one-time passcode for any visitors. This was all super easy to do in the app, and it will alert you on your phone when the door is unlocked and by whom. We’re not natural DIYers and have never changed a front door lock, so this was a new adventure. Instructions were generally easy to follow (again, in the app) but as someone new to this part of home improvement, I had no idea how to get our old locks off. The instructions start assuming your old lock is already off, so I had to Google that (but it was really easy to unscrew). I was mostly able to install this device without help from my husband until we got to the calibration phase. The deadbolt has to fit very smoothly into the doorframe/the strike plate and ours fit…but just barely. This resulted in the calibration failing repeatedly. We had to modify the doorframe a bit to get the deadbolt to go in smoothly (we sanded it out with a Dremel) and once it did, everything worked smoothly. One more thing to note - the instructions state everything can be installed with a screwdriver and that no drill is required. I started with a screwdriver but found using a drill to be WAY easier. Super happy with this Eufy device and will definitely consider adding more items to our home network!

It gives us peace of mind to be able to lock the door through the app. I’m someone always wondering, “did I remember to lock the door?” And this solves that worry! We are looking forward to being able to remotely lock and unlock the door for family and friends. It looks sleek and the buttons are easy to push. This is a product we are so happy to have!

Also there is kit of keys for the lock if you want to use it on the old man. It’s easy to install. I like that I can give access to my house remotely and I still don’t have to carry those keys from the kitchen. Can’t say anything about the battery life yet except that it’s here. I think the price to quality ratio of this lock is excellent

So far so good. The battery did not last one year. Installed it in July and battery was drained by October. We charged it and it worked. While charging we just used the keys that came with it. Finger print is good. Code is good as well. We used temporary codes for the in-laws. Good product.

It's great for feeling secure in the house and also when leaving so it gives a sense of extra protection. It works well with the app and it's a plus when I have friends/family that come over because I can give them a code to come in, instead of finding a spare house key.

The app connectivity is seamless, providing real-time notifications that enhance my awareness of access activities. I have not experienced any issues with unlocking, and the lock integrates effectively with my existing smart home system. However, I must note that the installation process did present certain challenges. Given the high quality of the product, the instructions could benefit from improved clarity, as I had to make several adjustments before achieving a successful installation. Once correctly installed, the lock has functioned flawlessly. The system has a sturdy, high-quality feel that adds to my appreciation for it. Regarding battery life, I have not encountered any problems so far, although it has only been a few weeks since installation. If the setup process had been more straightforward, I would have confidently rated this product a full five stars. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase.
