Love it

Love this little machine. I use it for everything....making flavored cream cheese, chopping nuts, pureeing soups. It does it all, and takes up very little counter space. This is my second one and I love the metallic red and the new design with handle. My first one lasted over 30 years so it is built to last.

I love my Mini Prep for Hummus

I absolutely love my little red mini prep plus food processor. I use it to make hummus and Guacamole so far. *There are instructions for cutting hard cheeses such as Romano, Asiago and Parmesan. Prepping onions and garlic was very easy and fast. The blade is sharp and does a very good job of cutting garlic. The size is perfect for my needs. It came well packaged and secure from drops and bumps. The manual is very easy to read and includes tips, recipes, cleaning, maintenance and trouble shooting information as well as operating techniques. Recipes include lemon butter, pesto, basic vinaigrette, tapenade, guacamole, mini cheesecakes and many more. There is minimal sound for a small processor as compared to much larger ones. You mainly pulse which require short burst of processing and sound. Grinding requires the same action and should not be pulsed longer than one minute or damage will be caused. **If you are heavy handed this processor may not be for you. You may need to pay more for what you are looking for. I read a lot of reviews before making my decision as what would be best for my needs. The Cuisinart instruction booklet covers everything for the mini-prep plus. This has saved me time and I love using it. It's going to be my personal sous chef in the kitchen. The color is a beautiful metallic red. There is no top-hole for pouring and clean up was easy by rinsing off and soaking work bowl for hand wash or top dishwasher safe. **BPA free. Small plastic spatula included for side scraping and should be put in cutlery basket for washing. Looks more like a white plastic knife. I prefer hand washing to keep the plastic work bowl and top from dulling in dishwasher. *Read instructions even if you think you know everything. *18 month warranty and you can register online at Cuisinart. com. If you fill the mini-prep plus half full there are no spills or blowback as a reviewer suggested on one site which happened to her. Just follow the booklets instructions and you will enjoy and use for a long time. Spanish and English Instructions. *You can order additional processor cups from Cuisinart Customer Service Department at 1-800-726-0190.

Works well, doesn't last long.

This works well. But the blade assembly, being plastic, eventually cracks. I have bought 3 so far, first 2 eventually cracked. Same design each time, same crack. Motor has not given out, still strong. I don't us it on anything hard, But better than what else is out there for the price.

DLC2-A

The DLC2-A is a very nice piece but for one little quibble. There is no neat way to store the power cord and plug. We had the previous model (DLC-1 ?) on which, the cord and plug stored snugly when coiled at bottom of unit. Aside from that, it is a better device.

Disappointed

I have many Cuisinart product that I love and so when I want a mini food processor I automatically bought a Cuisinart. I have been very disappointed. I end up with very uneven results no matter what I have tried (in terms of quantity and number of pulses). I seem to always have a mixture of pulped large chunks with some of the item appropriately chopped. I wish I could return it. Right now I put it in a yard sale/donations box. A waste of money.

mini is doing what it is uppose to do

It fits nicely in my small storage area. I used it yesterday most of the day and it chopped everything very evenly. It does not break things down to a pureed consistency but for a fine chop it worked great. I will be keeping it in the front of the cabinet.

Nice complement to my big Cuisinart

I bought this a couple months ago to work along side of my old DLC8 processor. I love hummus and started doing everything from scratch. Start with dry garbanzos and raw sesame seeds. Specifically, I use this small one for making tahini sauce. The combination blade that cuts and grinds works perfectly, especially when I can slowly drip oil right from the lid. It is great for chopping things like sun dried tomatoes to add into the hummus. Big jobs call for the big processor. Small supporting roles do not work as well in the big machine, so this Mini-Prep really shines for processing small batches. I have had my DLC8 for 30 years, only having to replace the work bowl and lid. I hope to be using this a very long time.

Cute little food processor

Purchased it mainly to purée and emulsify as older version could not accommodate liquid and would only chop and grind dry substances. It puréed well and is good for small volumes. Tried chopping pecans and the result was a mixture of powder and large chunks. Had more consistent result using a chefs knife.

Perfect for small batches

This is my second 24 ounce processor by Cuisinart. The first one suffered a drop that broke the top. I had it for years. It’s just perfect for grinding up cracker crumbs for recipes, chopping vegetables etc. which is why I ordered a replacement on the day I broke the first one.
