The guitar is a great value for the price, and worth every penny - much nicer than what I had expected. The "For Dummies" book and "interactive" CD, not so much. The book is a condensed version of one of the Dummies series books, and the CD is not even compatible with Windows 7. Book has very little detail and information. If you try to learn by using it, you will still be a dummy when you finish! I can't speak for the CD, because I couldn't even open it to see what was on it. My recommendation is buy the guitar, trash the book and CD, and get some good lessons from a pro.

This guitar is fine for someone who wants to start playing, but doesn't really know if they will even have time to learn. Why spend a ton of money on something that you are not really sure you will keep up with. This met all of my expectations and if I can learn and enjoy playing then maybe I'll get an expensive one. For now, this is perfect.

I'm not sure how I would rate the guitar because I haven't opened it, but I was very dissatisfied with the delivery. The guitar was a Christmas gift for my son. It showed up on my porch in a box that was labeled in large black letters, Acoustic Guitar. My son saw it so it ruined the surprise. I would think being the holidays and all, it would have arrived in a box that did not clearly state what the contents were.

You get what you pay for. This is a low end gautar. It is difacult to fret and tone quality is poor. I obtained this gautar as a instament to keep in practice while on a out of state job. I tried several ajjustments of the neck, and could not obtain a normal feel of the fret board. It requires considerablely more preasure and has a tendancy to buzz when moving from one fret to the other. I feel that as a beginners gaurar, it would be eazier to learn on a higher end gautar.

Overall I was pleased with this package. The only thing I would add is extra strings. Other than that it is good. The Guitar has good sound, I did change the strings to steel/silk as my daughter is a beginner and that is eaiser on the fingers. When it arrives just tune and enjoy.

According to reviews this looked like a great deal for a 10 year beginner. When it arrived it looked great - good quality etc. Unfortunately 2 of the frets were badly made and raised - making the guitar unplayable => had to return to store for refund. Hopefully this was the only bad one in the bunch! Worth considering but check carefully when you get it.

The only good thing about this item was the instructional guide. It was easy to understand and helpful. The guitar itself is another matter. First, it was smaller than I was expecting. It is only 3/4 sized. The worst part were the strings. As soon as I got it, I tuned it using the digital tuner included in the package. Immediately upon completing it, I used it again to make sure one last time and every single string had to be tuned again. After doing that, I strummed the strings twice and checked again. I had to tune for a third time. The guitar simply would not stayed tuned at all. The sound was very bad. Perhaps it was the strings, they seemed very flimsy. I took it back immediately and bought a different guitar.

I bought a guitar in Japan before for practicing, but it was super small. I ordered it through the internet that time so I didn't expect this guitar to be in this size ! This is perfect for adults who want to start learning guitar. It met my expectation 100% !

At first I did not think Walmart sold guitars. When I found this Kona guitar on their website for under 100 dollars - I automatically thought this has to a kids toy guitar. Looking over the specs and size - it is a full size guitar suitable for first time learners to get in at a budget price. Really nice guitars like Fender, Gibson etc.. would have cost me a arm and leg. If my children played guitar as a passing hobby...I would have been out of a few more hundred dollars and stuck with something i can't use. So for a low investment of about 85 dollars I can't go wrong and I am not out a fortune for another piece of decorative hardware. When I received it the first time - it was missing the tuner so I had to return it and re-order it again. The second time it came - everything was correct and included the guitar, tuner, training book and CD. My kids are happy and I am happy. More important - the sound is quite mellow and good. I would suggest this to anyone just testing the water and trying to keep the cost down.

I bought this guitar for my son and it looked good. When I brought it home he opened it up and started tuning it with the tuner. (He's played guitar before.) He tuned the first two strings and he was tuning the third one and it snapped. On the FIRST DAY. Then he put it in the case and the zipper broke. If you want this guitar buy a different case and some better strings.
