I was under-satisfied with this my purchase. I had been searching for the exact trash can to fit a particular space in my kitchen without being too wide. I had previously owned a Ninestar trash can which opened on the side, however after several years and one lid replacement, was ready for replacement. This unit, while it fit in the exact space I needed it to, did not meet the kitchen standard. The lid would do some funky thing and randomly close prematurely while trash was still being discarded. This happened too frequently so I returned it and bought a step-open trash can.

First, it is slim and fits nicely in our cabinet closet in the kitchen. It has a great look and matches all our stainless steel appliances. The tall kitchen bags fit great and seem to hold more trash by standing higher than other trash cans. The best part is that you open the closet door and pass your hand over the electronic eye and the top lifts up automatically (takes 4 "D" size batteries). Then you drop in the trash/garbage. The lid closes in a few seconds. Everybody loves to throw their trash away to see it "do it's thing." One of our best Christmas gifts ever!

Firstly I bought this product as a gift for a friend, then I bought one for my self because my friend recommended I should also get one. Lastly I purchased another one as a gift for a friend getting married, it is awesome, wonderful and I m still buying for other friends as gifts.

Got out of box. Put in batteries. Took out batteries. Put back in box. Cheap cheap cheap. - sensor feels like cheap plastic, you have to put your hand really close to the sensor for it to open, and just really feels cheap. I'm sorry I wasted my time.

So far, I like it better than one I paid $30 more for about 5 years ago. One feature I really like is that the lid won't try to close on you if it takes longer to put something in. The other model would try to close after a few seconds whether you were finished or not which was quite annoying.

The motion sensor on my new Touchless Garbage Can is like an answer to a prayer. Now I can throw away anything by just putting my full hands in front of it. This saves me time because I don't have to stop and wash my hands while I'm busy cooking, cleaning, etc. The slim design works perfectly in my breakfast nook and the stainless steel finish matches my appliances. I would give it "9 stars" if I could.

I don't know why this is so fun but it is. Walk over the lid pops up, you throw your trash in, and the lid goes back down. Fascinating. It also looks really nice to leave out in the kitchen all the time.

This is my second motion sensor wastebasket. The only difference is that the ring for holding the bag in place isn't lower than the rim so it's harder to put the bag in so it doesn't show with the lid on.

we had to return this b/c the plastic battery case did not work. you couldn't properly close the battery case and the batteries kept falling out into the trashcan. poor design and was a design flaw. would not recommend this to anyone

Been shopping around for the perfect touch less stainless garbage can for my kitchen and this met every need. The perfect size , shape and works wonderful.
