I wanted a nice looking trash bin that is easier to clean than our plastic bin that always looks icky. Plastic bins with lids always get grimy on the lids, then the lids disappear completely. This stainless steel bin looks stunning sitting at the end of my kitchen island - the trash bag is completely hidden inside, and the lit opens all by itself without having to push it with whatever you're holding. Added bonus: this keeps my dog from helping himself when we're out. I totally recommend this trash can. One note, the 13 gallon bags are too short for this bin, which is a bit narrower and taller than others. I am using large black bags, which just give me extra room to grab more stuff on the way out to the curb.

I have finally found my perfect trash can!! Received it right before Christmas and my family love it and all want one! My 3 year old grandson was alone in the kitchen, having gone to throw away some paper for his mother. She overheard him saying, "Thank you." When he came back into the living room she asked him who he was thanking. He said, "The trash can. It opened by itself for me!" I agree with him!

Very well made. I like the rectangular shape. More compact than the rounded version, but holds just as much!

This is my second one

I bought 2 of these. After inserting batteries, one worked fine. The other was DOA. Just decided to return them both. On a good note, I used the pick up at my nearest store and that worked out great... easy, no wait. There are only 2 choices for recommendation to a friend... I would have marked 'maybe' on this one.

So far, I like it better than one I paid $30 more for about 5 years ago. One feature I really like is that the lid won't try to close on you if it takes longer to put something in. The other model would try to close after a few seconds whether you were finished or not which was quite annoying.

First, it is slim and fits nicely in our cabinet closet in the kitchen. It has a great look and matches all our stainless steel appliances. The tall kitchen bags fit great and seem to hold more trash by standing higher than other trash cans. The best part is that you open the closet door and pass your hand over the electronic eye and the top lifts up automatically (takes 4 "D" size batteries). Then you drop in the trash/garbage. The lid closes in a few seconds. Everybody loves to throw their trash away to see it "do it's thing." One of our best Christmas gifts ever!

This item arrived with a Big Dent on one of the edges. I pushed the dent out and the metal was still dimpled. The box itself was not damaged, leading me to think someone packaged this despite seeing the dent. So, I returned it to my local Walmart this weekend. I do like the overall appearance of the item, and I ordered another one. Hopefully, that one will be in perfect shape.

The motion sensor on my new Touchless Garbage Can is like an answer to a prayer. Now I can throw away anything by just putting my full hands in front of it. This saves me time because I don't have to stop and wash my hands while I'm busy cooking, cleaning, etc. The slim design works perfectly in my breakfast nook and the stainless steel finish matches my appliances. I would give it "9 stars" if I could.

I've only owned this for about 10 days but so far so good. I have yet to totally figure out the sensitivity - how far/close to/from the sensor - to have it work. I would suggest being a little careful the first few days because if you walk to close it will open. LOL
