OK for the price

This is our family room TV connected via HDMI to a computer which controls most of the programming; we also use SMARTCAST for some streaming from our phones. We have two issues with this TV: The picture quality is good when looking straight on but degrades rapidly as you move to the side - this is a real disappointment most other TVs do much better in this area. The second issue is that if we allow the computer to turn off the display after the system is idle (to reduce power consumption), the TV will never detect the HDMI input the next time you try and watch it. The only way that this system works is if the computer power settings are set to "Turn off Display - NEVER". You can turn the TV power off and on - that works fine, but allowing the computer to power down the computer end of the display is fatal (I don't have this problem with my other SONY TV)

Easy 1-2-3 Setup

I purchased two weeks ago. Always love the Vizio vivid colors compared to other tvs.. I wanted to up grade that allowed me other options to bring in more movie choices and the Smart 4K did that for me. Got a great price deal and went for it. Easy peasy on setting up. No problems

Excellent quality TV

I bought the TV a couple weeks ago, I have not had a lot of time to watch it yet, but the few times I have, I have been very pleased. I have not gone through the screen adjustments yet, but the picture is still high-quality and the price point is great. Another excellent product from Vizio

Killer TV for the size and price

I needed to replace my 40" Samsung that stopped working, and luckily this 50" fit nicely in the cabinet where the Samsung was. Very crisp picture, good sound system, and a very nice 'smart TV' (Smartcast) to easily access Netflix, Amazon and tons of other content out there. Easy to move around being the lightest 50" TV I ever handled.

Good tv

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We enjoy the TV. Picture quality is great and refresh rate is great. The TV sometimes freezes and it needs to be unplugged for a min. Happens every so often. It starts off by the remote not responding then takes long for apps to open.

Not What I expected

I've had this 4k Smart TV for about 4 months now and must say I'm impressed with some aspects and not so much with others. Watching TV it has an amazing, sharp, detailed picture. The Dolby sound through my soundbar is also above average. But for movies and other videos, whether from Netflix, Blu Ray player, YouTube, etc., the picture is sometimes unwatchable. I admit it was in someway my own fault for believing the ads about the "effective refresh rate" being 120 hz. The TV refresh rate is 60 Hz period. If I play with the picture on the menu I can sometimes get a somewhat better picture though it is still fuzzy. And that is very disappointing. Always check the specs. The refresh rate listed there is the native refresh rate of the device and no amount of supposed electronic enhancing will make it anything else. So look for 120 Hz for the motion or refresh rate in the specs. Anything less will disappoint. So for me, TV picture-excellent, sound-very good, movies-not what I expected.

Amazingly clear!

Getting this tv was a game changer! I love video games and movies and this display with 4K brings out those details so nicely! The smartcast works pretty well. It has a few hiccups but with more updates I'm sure it'll improve more. Overall a super good tv and I do recommend giving it a try

Great TV for the price

We have had this TV a little over a year now. Every now and then it runs into an error where it asks me to restart and try again. It may have happened 3 times since we bough it. The only other problem I had was when I first hooked up Google Chromecast, there was a problem with the settings and I figured that out pretty quickly. Everything else is great, it goes through regular updates with no problem.

Great features and awesome

Great features and awesome TV, we love this TV purchase. We needed it for the room smart TV. Made a big difference in our viewing pleasure. Smartcast is super. The WatchFree feature is like a scrolling guide (not on demand) but what is currently streaming is a good feature. The apps are plentiful. Just a really great experience and purchase that exceeded our expectations for this pricepoint!

Great Quality

Was originally looking for a Samsung tv but saw the two side by side and the picture quality was just amazing and for a much better price. After a few weeks of having it I can honestly say I'm going to be a VIZIO customer for good! Planning on getting 2 more.
