Gift card promotion????

A word for those who see free gift cards advertised: I bought both an adjustable base and a king size mattress - both from Serta. This was an expensive purchase, but a promise of gift cards helped me decide to make the plunge and offset the expense. The listings for both the adjustable base and the bed, at the time of my online purchase, offered “$400 in Sam's Club gift cards” on each item - both for the base and the mattress. I never received the full $800 in gitt cards. It turns out that this comes from Serta, vs. Sam's Club. Serta only sent $300 (two cards in one envelope), and Serta says to call Sam's to find out where the remaining balance may be? Meanwhile, Sam's Club says they see that this promotion was advertised on their web site at the time of my order. However, they think it's an issue with Serta and said they'll get back to me. Meanwhile, instead of getting $800 and I only have $300. (One card for $100 and the other for $200.) Oh, the delivery company also failed to bring the king “free box spring,” which i planned to donate to a charity, since I didn't need it with the adjustable base. And here's the ending: The installer forgot to install some parts, requiring me to disassemble the whole contraption with the help from my 75-year-old father in law. This adjustable base weighs at least 500 pounds, when it's configured for a King sized bed! Luckily, my father-in-law is a former engineer and started reading the detailed instructions, after the installers left, and noticed that the metal plates that hold the adjustable base together were left in the box, unopened. Ridiculous! To be honest, I'm not sleeping too well over all of this! This has been a real pain in the neck (and back).
