Not sure why almost every tv nowadays needs apps built in but it seems to bog down a lot of different types of televisions. Anyways, for that reason, I bought the ultra to get rid of slowdowns and crashes that would occur. About a month in and it's performed way better. I even use the Lan hookup and that's worked quite well.

We have the Roku ultra for about a year. Was working fine but now the usb remote doesn’t work unless it’s plugged in. The new updated usb remote says it’s supposed to hold the charge longer than the original usb remote. Called customer service and it didn’t help. To buy a replacement remote is about 1/2 the price of a whole new system. I would rather a battery remote than a rechargeable one that doesn’t last more than a year.

I have had a Samsung Smart TV for many years. The picture quality is as great as it ever was but because of its age, the apps of many streaming services don’t support it. The TV fits perfectly into a bedroom cabinet and it would be very difficult to find a replacement. So I got a Roku Ultra and shifted the “Smart” functions of the TV to the Roku and never looked back.

The player is flexible and seems to do what we need to stream. We dont do much other with it so it has met expectations. I like the ability to make selections with voice commands and can even enter passcodes by voice. I have this version on 2 of the three tv's we have in rooms. The other 2 tv's are smart tv's and this one is easier to operate.

New Roku is hit or miss. Requires lots of restarts and freezes a lot. I don’t like how Roku changes my wallpaper and yes I have seasonal turned off. I don’t like all the ads on homescreen of Roku. I don’t like how they add items to my Homepage without consent! Starwars, Nfl, etc.

I own 3 Roku ultras and a few of the lower cost ones. Sadly Roku now has advertisements, but I get it; companies make billions upon billions annually from showing us advertising. My opinion is that Roku is a better streaming device compared to the offerings from Apple, Google, Amazon…far more streaming app options. The only downside to Roku is that some content is only available on their steaming devices and not a phone or PC Roku app.

I love the remote. It lights up when you move it so the buttons are easy to see. There's a button on the receiver to find the remote if you've misplaced it. I don't like the four company buttons at the bottom, it's too easy to accidentally hit one and have your program changed. Also, the microphone button is too close to the pause and I frequently hit it instead of the pause and the screen goes silent -- very annoying.

Really impressed with this Roku. Especially the remote. I use this Roku in the bedroom. I'm one who doesn't turn on a light to watch television at night. I have a Samsung TV (a older one) the screen turns down when there isn't a light on and goes brighter when there is light. This remote is perfect as it lights up for when I'm watching at night. Definitely worth having this one.

Our early version, original and still working Roku needed an upgrade to take advantage of the new technology available with our new TV system. The transition to the Roku Ultra was simple and the picture and sound quality is excellent. Love the backlit, rechargeable remote with volume control and voice activation which can be turned on and off on the remote. We turned voice off after it surprisingly picked up TV dialogue and started a search. Overall, a great streaming product.
