I have an older Sony TV that has a very nice screen but few inputs and an oversized and awkward remote(s). Adding a Roku Ultra has given it a new life. The Roku remote is a single point of control, the backlite buttons are a nice bonus. The performance when scolling through and launching apps is snappy and quick. No need to recycle this TV just yet!

I have had a few Roku devices over the years. The latest one may be the best one. I like the fact I can charge up the remote without changing batteries. It is easier as long as I do not lose the charging cord. It is also faster to access my TV set and turn on YouTube which we use for watching traditional TV stations. Moreover, one click and I can be in Netflix or Paramount. The picture is crisp and clear and it integrated perfectly with the sound bar that I use.

My new Roku ultra far surpasses my previous Roku three. It has more features than I ever imagined! I would highly recommend it to others. It’s far more responsive and I never have to restart it like I did my previous Roku three. If you’re looking for a new Roku streaming device, I highly recommend the Roku Ultra.

When it works the ROKU Ultra is great. However, after a few months it started losing its sound, then it randomly started skipping forward, and then finally it started making a loud buzzing sound. I thought I must have gotten a bad one so I contacted Customer support and they sent me a new one. Now a few months later, the replacement one is doing the exact same thing!

My old cable service was growing way too expensive and had begun to shed content at the same time. So, I contracted for a complete professional redo of my home electronics - including a theater system and two other TVs. The result has been great over all - and a large part of that was the acquisition of three Ultra units. They have netted me a lot of extra channels as well as a crystal-clear picture, across the board. The cable service had not been doing that good a job. Ah, if there were only a "Last" button on the Ultra controllers!

I've used Roku for years. I've also used Apple TV and of course the apps embedded in my smart TVs. I recently upgraded one of my older Roku Sticks to this latest Ultra. The sticks work great and in such a small package they are amazing for stand-alone TVs as an upgrade to just using the aps embedded in the TV and for travel. I upgraded to the Ultra for my main TV because I happen to have an ethernet cable at that location to improve network performance and remove one more WiFi device from my home and because I wanted to have all the latest sound options including Dolby Atmos. It's never really stated if the Apps in your smart TV support those sound options or not but I was finding that they typically do not even if the TV itself supports those options. (The attached receiver will tell you if it is receiving an Atmos signal.) The unexpected additional bonus is that this latest Ultra is blazingly fast. opening apps and performing searches is faster than any other device I have tried. Nice. Finally, perhaps the best part of this Roku is that the search function does not prioritize its own app when you search for shows and movies (Apple and Amazon Fire). It also does not flood you with advertising (it is less intrusive than other systems). Roku has always been this way and the main reason I switched to Roku years ago.

We were having trouble with our TV kicking out all the time. We did some research and was told we needed a new streaming device. We liked our roku stick but it seems that was the problem because since we replaced it with roku ultra it runs faster and smoother and we don't have the problem of being kicked out the system.

I have a TLC with Roku in my living room. My husband has a big fancy Samsung TV in the basement that he likes. I found it very hard for me to control his TV. I bought him this little Roku so I could use his Samsung downstairs. They are very simple to use and I wouldn’t want anything different.

Roku ultra - This house has always had fire tv products as being an early adaptor to the voice line / cube as well. Earlier in the year we went with "SpectrumTv stream" in a combo deal using their given xumo stream box which was missing so much in apps alone from the fireTv transition. - Firetv does not seem to carry the spectrum app Thus, we now need a stable preferable wired stream box that carries the " spectrum app". The 'Roku Ultra 4800r is that box and then some ! From App Loading to menu operations, -all is snappy and consistent without fail. The remote ? Much better in my view than firetv's pro remote. The backlighting is better overall as well with the buttons not feeling so " clumped " together without any spacing. The volume rocker and mute buttons being on the side also permits the use of space well. The 'Find me' remote feature with different sounds applicable that also has rechargeable capabilities tops off the feature filled backlit remote. Hicks ups ? As to date only thing I've found is a few times the remote not working the volume on our connected Denon sound system. This only occurs when in CEC mode . A soft Restart by remote within the 'power' >system restart' resolves the problem. Overall? Our favorite streaming box to date. We ♡ Roku !

New Roku is hit or miss. Requires lots of restarts and freezes a lot. I don’t like how Roku changes my wallpaper and yes I have seasonal turned off. I don’t like all the ads on homescreen of Roku. I don’t like how they add items to my Homepage without consent! Starwars, Nfl, etc.
