EASY to use!

I bought the ultra a few weeks ago.LG TV was having horrible delays both loading shows and from the remote. Several times throughout each day I will get kicked off because when it tried to switch from a show to a commercial it just crashed. I used artificial intelligence to research and learned that the Roku ultra has a much more powerful whatever and that when I hooked it up to my TV, it would be my source and my tv just became a dumb monitor. Almost all the delays are gone. The only one that is still there is when I first turn the tv on…but loading shows is fast-almost instant. Commercials load seamlessly. It only crashed twice and I've had it whereas before I was having crashes multiple times a day. Set up was a breeze, one HDMI cord and a plug. And to boot, I now have the best remote I've ever had. It's back lit and I don't have to use the LG remote for anything. And I can't prove it but the reception seems better. I am an official Roku fan girl.

Nothing works, and it is full of ads that cannot be removed. I have owned a Roku since the Roku 3. This new menu system is the worst yet. Everything is an ad, and nothing can be customized anymore. I might switch systems because this new menu system is so worthless. I no longer recommend Roku. Go back to the simple, easy-to-use menu system.

Our old Roku just stopped working one day (don't know what Roku series it was). Upgraded to the Ultra and we are very happy with it. The remote buttons light up when you pick it up, so very easy to use while watching tv at night with the lights out. Volume control on the side of the remote is so much better. With the old Roku we had to control the volume from the tv remote, which was very inconvenient. It was very easy to synch the new remote and worked perfectly from day one. Very happy with this upgrade.

Roku is my go-to on all my TVs. I bought the Ultra because I wanted the best features. All works as expected except for the remote. The buttons do not respond like my other Rokus. Very slow and often does not register the button press. Kinda difficult for someone like me who is constantly click thru videos. I like the rechargeable feature do I don't have to replace batteries

This Ultra is the sixth Roku device I've owned--I have recommended and installed at least two dozen more for hesitant friends. Each successive model just offers features and improvements that "wow" me. I recently replaced an older TV with a QLED 4K model and I wanted the best resolution possible so I traded my 2022 Ultra for the 2024 and couldn't be more pleased. It loads faster, handles, defintion and motion better than anything I have seen.

As I wrote in the title, the Roku Ultra is a great upscaling device for mp4 video files. I use the Ultra mainly to play back mp4 and mp3 files that I have stored on USB-A flash drives. When I try to use Samsung SD cards in their proprietary Samsung brand adapter, there is not enough space to fit the adapter in because the USB-A input port is too close to HDMI port. Just half an inch more space between the two input slots would provide enough clearance. I know, why not use a MicroSDXC card like everyone else and save the SD card for digital camera storage? It is harder to lose SD cards and I think bigger is better sometimes, especially when it comes to heat dissipation.

12 hours of troubleshooting and Roku wants to do another 6 instead of standing behind their product. Customer service is the worst that I’ve ever encountered.

New Roku works well, disappointed that I needed to buy a new one. After researching why some apps weren’t working properly, I learned your Roku only last 3-5 years and you should update.

This review is about Roku Ultra, but I need to start with an earlier purchase: Apple TV 4K. The Apple device was almost perfect - no advertising and an elegant remote with the perfect weight and buttons. Its fatal flaw: voice search didn't include Netflix. So, I searched for an alternative and found the Roku Ultra. Picture and sound quality are excellent. The remote feels too light, with too many buttons, but the backlighting is great. I was able to customize the home screen to remove all but one advertising block. Not perfect, but very good!
