This is my first “nice” machine. I've only ever had cheaper machines before. The provided instructions are clear and helpful. The bobbin is easy to wind, load, and draw up. I am loving the self threading tool! I actually don't mind changing thread now. I just finished my first quilt and the only issues I had were user error. The ONLY thing I wish is that the storage compartment had a little door to close like I've seen on some other machines to keep things secure.

This is the first sewing machine I've ever owned and for a beginner I feel like it's a perfect machine! Very easy to set up and very easy to use! I am super pleased with this machine!

Thread never breaks, sews smoothly and you can adjust the needle position for perfect 1/4 inch seams or any width seam you want. I hemmed 2 pair of jeans recently. Sews right thru denim. Making a quilt right now!

This was a gift and I'm thrilled about all this machine can do. I'm still learning about the features but definitely happy to own this product.

I’ve only done a few small projects on this machine so far, but I am very happy with it. It is easy to use (the bobbin took a few tries) and the stitch quality is excellent. This is good for a beginner or an experienced sewer. I bought three similar machines to teach beginners on, and so far everyone has done well with them.

This is one of the quietest, smoothest machines I have ever had the privilege of owning. I am so happy that I purchased this machine and will do so for my Granddaughter when the time comes. This machine is just right to bring when traveling or if need be, take to classes.

This Brother XR3774 has been a God send. I had not touched a sewing machine since high school home economics class, decades ago; but this one got me up to speed real fast! The instructional DVD included was completely helpful, pleasant sounding instructor, easy to follow instructions; and I totally LOVE the background music. This Machine was affordable, sturdy, easy to use; and stylishly designed. We are a family with many Brother products; and very happy to now have this as an addition to our Brother products family. bought this for a friend a few months ago she loves it says has a few things she misses with her old machine but for the price is a good machine..so just purchased one for my daughter now that i know its a good one..

Threader does not work... easier to squint and thread your needle manually. Very basic machine, takes care of household needs/mending. Small throat cannot accommodate anything larger than single pieces of clothing. No needle return/index button. Inclusion of walking foot is nice, but there is very little clearance to change feet or needles.

Unreliable. I bought 9 of these machines to teach sewing classes. I spend more time troubleshooting than sewing with my students. They are cheaply made. Thread tangles a lot. Self threader is too difficult to use especially for my older and very young students. Screwdriver is laughable and too small to be useful. Tension is a constant problem. No spool top holders included. Needle and foot screws fall out from the machine vibrations. Stitch guide is backwards. Buttonhole foot is difficult to use. Overall not efficient or reliable.
