This is NOT the sweet Blue Crab we love to pick and eat from U.S. East Coast, Chesapeake Bay area, or "Bay Crabs" as we often call them. This is Blue Swimmer Crab from Asian waters. Because they bury themselves in sand (or mud), the meat will likely have some sandy grit in it, as well as shell pieces. Though picked U.S. bay Blue Crab meat will have some shell pieces, it should not contain sand. And, you will find them to be the sweetest, best tasting crabs, especially if they are females!

The meat was OK, but the condition of the meat was much more like machine-shredded meat, than hand-picked, delicate meat. They throw a few pieces of hand-picked meat on top for whatever purpose they think that serves. Ok for soup, but thumbs down and anything else!!

Who is rating this crab meat as anything other than garbage? Maybe at one time they had a good product but not anymore. Took 3 bites. It taste like they only took the meat at the body joint which isn’t very good meat. Also all 3 bites had shell and tendon in it. Premium is the furthest thing from what this product is.

Definitely a step down from your previous supplier.

crabmeat is average. I recommend for soups or other recipes, but not for crab cakes.
