Great fridge, EXCELLENT customer service!!!
We bought this refrigerator a little over a year ago when we moved into our house. It has been used to keep drinks cold in our basement. It suddenly quit cooling one day and was making this weird clicking sound like it was trying to turn on the compressor but just wouldn't. I was hesitant, but after reading the other reviews I decided to call customer service. Holy cow. When I say they were amazing, I mean it. Good customer service is so hard to find these days with large companies, so I am always eager to tell others when I receive it. A REAL person answered the phone. No automated robot that couldn't understand how to direct my call. The first real person transferred me to the department that could assist me. Within less than 5 minutes the representative had troubleshot my problem, taken my information, and put in an order to ship a replacement part and instructions same day. Did I mention that the fridge is out of the manufacturers warranty? They didn't care...helped me anyway. I will update this review when said replacement part arrives and we have replaced it.
No light
I bought this fridge yesterday, let it sit upright overnight and everything works great, except the led interior light doesn't work. I was so excited to find a fridge with adjustable glass shelves and at a good price. I'm bummed out that the light doesn't work.
Quiet, Super cold, Love it!
This unit is so quiet it barely makes any noise at all. The first time I let it get cold and then filled it with drinks. Give it about two days to get good and cold. It is slow but it will keep drinks super cold, I have it set at 34 degrees and it will maintain 29 degrees on the second shelf from the bottom. There is a ledge on the middle of the back wall and water sitting there will get ice in it on my setting. Putting in more than about ten hot drinks at a time will raise the temperature inside so I load it at night and by the next morning it is cold again. Running more than about thirty drinks a day through this little fridge may not get cold enough, fast enough.
Love it!!
We bought this for our movie room upstairs about a year ago, and it has been wonderful. Keeps drinks right at whatever temp I set it to (even with my kids opening the door several times a day), I've never had any issue with condensation on the glass and it's so quiet I never even hear it running even though it's right next to our TV. I definitely would recommend and purchase again!! Best addition to our movie snack bar.
Trouble x2
I bought one of these and experience trouble with it. The temperature fluctuated quite a bit, as displayed on their temperature display. Drinks at the top were quite a bit warmer than those at the top. The back of the unit where the refridgerant is also frosted up quite a bit. The bottom of the door got a lot of condensation on the outside. In the end I wondered if we had a bad seal or something. I tried their help desk, but got nowhere. I took it back to Sams Club and exchanged it for another one. The second one also got a lot of condensation on the outside of the door (on a level hardwood floor, that doesn't do well with water dripping on it). This second one also froze and burst a couple of cans in the back, which then thawed and dripped out. Needless to say, the second one was returned as well. I give up.
Do not buy
I have another no name brand that still works great but was too wide to fit in new cabinet space. This was is terrible. It does not get cold enough because it freezes up with ice buildup. The door never closes properly which properly adds to above and last straw is the unit is 3 months old and yesterday leaked all over the floor and cabinets.
Horrible Smell and Not Very Cold
I've washed the interior, including the shelves, with vinegar, Dawn, and even a baking soda solution. Nothing will remove the smell. I am not particularly sensitive but drinking from a can or bottle that's been in this fridge is repulsive. I really thought that time would help clear the smell. No dice. I've put tray upon tray of baking soda in the bottom of the fridge. The soda reeks when I toss it. Even when the temp reads 38, the beverages don't feel that cold.
before I purchased I called up the company
I read the other reviews about the smell. The company told me the smell came from the Seal of the front door and if I experienced that type of smell they would replace the seal. I told them that's all I needed to know and I'll go ahead and purchase this unit. It had zero smell upon delivery and the setup was extremely easy. I did buy the extended warranty to be on the safe side for I think $9 for an additional two years. I'm very pleased with this product and it has maintained the temperature that I set it at. Though I've only had it for 2 weeks it was a good decision on my part to purchase this unit. I did not want to spend hundreds up to a thousand for a beverage cooler. I'm making sure that I do not block the air flow from the fan on the inside, and my cooler has plenty of airflow around the back the sides and the top.
Truly a real beverage fridge !
I've been looking for a replacement for our outdoor fridge, as it would not chill to an acceptable level for my desirable ice cold beverages. I read many reviews, and was about to spend $500+ for one that would chill to 32 degrees. Most of these units only go to 40 degrees. However, I came across this Sam's Club offering for under $200. Now that Tramontina has updated its ability to chill to 32 degrees, it specifications hit the nail on the head. Plus, it looks good! I plugged it in yesterday, and within a few hours, it was chilling to its setting of 34 degrees. The lower level was at 34, while the upper shelf was 40. That's ideal for the sodas, and obligatory limes, fresh oranges, and 34 for the brews below. The actual temperature display is great, and the blue LED interior light is ideal. The unit hums quietly while running. I'm sure it will chill to 32 as well. granted, it was a bit chilly here in SW Florida yesterday, (our couple days of winter, LOL) so the real test will be in the summer. I'm confident it will do the trick. Very pleased with this rather affordable beverage fridge.
LED display burned out 1 week, never cold enough
This unit was a good price during their special recently, it has a display that is LED and it says you can turn it down to 32 and mine never reached that temp. I like the beer cold so I put it on the bottom where it said, only way it got cold was to shove it to the back of the unit, if you have it loaded up like the picture shows then it will take days to cool that many cans, went on a short vacation for 4 days, came back and two of the numbers on the LED had portions of the numbers burned out, again it says 32 on the display but no way it was that cold. And the compressor is loud, if you have this in a small room like an office like I did and you have a TV going you will have to turn up your TV to compensate for noise. I was going to live with it because I thought it was sharp looking but when the LED started going out I just took it back to Sams Club. I'd pass on this one.
