Perfect :)

I searched everywhere for a fridge with good ratings to put in my basement. I went with this because all other fridges people complained about the temperature. Mine shows 32 degrees so I did not have to call to upgrade the unit. I can confirm with it full of drinks they get very cold so 32 degrees is working. It does make some vibrating/rattling noise. Fix? Put something heavy on the fridge. Slight humming noise, but it is a fridge. Those that are complaining about the noise must drive really slow on the highway so they don't get any wind noise. It's not bad at all.. Blue light is cool. You can turn it off. Buy it you won't regret it. I've had it for 3 days.

Not sure I got a good one

This thing wouldn't go below 57 degrees the first day I plugged it in (despite the display showing 32 degrees), and I noticed frost forming on the back wall, so I unplugged it for 8 hours. When I plugged it back in, it slowwwwly went down to 40 degrees, but it took 2 days to get there. That has me suspicious. I did let it sit for 8 hours before initially starting it up, just to let the refrigerant settle. And the door has a good seal. I'm not sure if the compressor is malfunctioning because it runs 100% of the time, making churning noises which I assume is the refrigerant. This could be normal, I'm just not sure. I'm going to monitor it over the next few days. It is really nice looking, though, so I hope I don't have to exchange it.

Not cooling enough

Bought last September at Sam's. Worked fine for few months but then it stopped going below 56 degrees and wasnt cooling enough. Tramontina customer service suggested defrosting but that didn't help. This line seems to be discontinued as no store is selling them any more and Sam's has replaced with Frigidaire brand. So overall not pleased with this one.

Only cools to 45 degrees. Otherwise, pretty.

I bought two of these. Pros: cheap, clean lines, attractive, customer support DOES answer phones. Cons: neither unit cools as described. One dropped to 32 and then came up to 43 and never went back down. Other unit would never get below 45. Customer support of course walked me through all the things that would absolve them: 1) "The room may be too warm" (no - its <70 degrees) 2) "You may not have left enough space around them" (no - free-standing) 3) "You may have shocked the compressor" (no...and that is a made-up condition...you can damage a compressor if not kept upright for the day prior to turning it on due to internal oil, but ours were never tilted: from purchase, through delivery, and plug-in...all done by-the-book.) The support rep said she'd have to talk to tech support and get back to me. I'll update this review if it yields anything useful, otherwise returning them.

Fantastic!

I've read each review before I purchased this fridge. I decided to buy two of these and flip one door over for the side by side look under my home bar. The door I flipped has a dent on it that I didn't notice until it was turned over, but this is no problem due to Tramontinas OUTSTANDING customer service. I am currently using the first one and did exactly as directed by letting the unit sit for 6 hours before plugging in, then allowing to cool to factory setting, load with beverages and lower temp to desired temp. This unit is quiet, my drinks are at 33 degrees as I like them. The colder the beer, the better for me. It is perfect! I'm glad I bought two! If my bar was bigger, I'd buy more. Do as the instructions ask before reporting a complaint.

Great little fridge

We got this for added storage since we only have space for a smaller full size fridge. Its short but a little boxy so takes up a fair bit of space. Has a great look, the LED blue light is very pretty but the temp control gives off enough light that you really don't need the interior light on. Reading through others reviews regarding the temp and needing to order an additional part etc kind of put me off, didn't want to deal with having to order and install extra parts but I went with it anyway and much to my surprise, didn't have that issue. Maybe the newer ones are made differently? I don't know but mine does go down to 32, I keep it at 36 and even though it takes a couple days for a stocked fridge to get fully cold it seems to be doing its job. The compressor does make a little noise when running, nothing that really bothers me though. All in all its great if you need the extra storage.

Smell and sound with mine, too..

I purchased TWO of these this summer during a huge sale when they were $150 ea. The reviews never mentioned anything about a terrible smell that leaves not only a smell but horrible TASTE on and in items making them unusable if opened. I did everything I was supposed to do before starting it. It was never turned on its sides as to affect the compressor. I assumed, like all fridges, that it would stink for a bit until I wiped it down and until after it was running for a bit. Totally wrong. I've placed a wrapped stick of butter in this to chill overnight during a renovation only have to throw away my entire English muffin after I spread it with the butter. It was inedible. I had a can of sparkling water I left opened after drinking a bit, only to taste the very smell that apparently permeated the water. The smell is like that of formaldehyde, in my opinion. Yeh, you get taken back to any Anatomy class you've ever taken. It's terrible and hasn't gone away a couple months now after owning. It was even turned off for a couple weeks and back on, to “air out.” Had my neighbor over tonight and when I opened it, she said, “That's not right. That smells like some bad chemical.” Additionally, (as if there needed to be more wrong!...) the back inside panel looks to have frozen drippings down in. And it is very loud, kind of a high-pitch airy sound where you think someone is running a hair dryer in another room....but they never stop drying their hair. The sound never stops. Add that to the gurgling sounds it makes pretty regularly. I am so disappointed, but it shows a deal is never a deal anymore. The promotion price was clearly b/c there is something wrong with the beverage fridge, not that that would ever be admitted though. Anyway, I'm going to have to return these now that I know I'm not the only one and there are nothing but bad reviews since these were purchased during the recent sale. Look elsewhere!

tramontina beverage fridge

Noisy!!! If completely full, it takes 2 days for the temp to regulate back to 37 degrees. My home is very quiet, however this noisy fridge disrupts that and is an ear sore! It looks nice and serves its purpose, but I would not buy this brand again. I do not recommend.

Does not cool to 32 degrees as stated

This unit is sleek and looks awesome in my home bar. However the reason for purchasing this unit was the fact that the unit alleges to cool to 32 degrees. I am storing only beer in this unit and optimimal temps are 34-35 for beer, thus the reason I purchased this brand. This is not true, the top half of this unit barely stays at 44 degrees, and that is not having it opened for days. I have seen after the purchase, reviews that say the same thing. I had called shortly after purchase to complain and was told that the bottom would definetly get to 32 but the top may not, and I was told to get a thermometer and put on the top shelf to see for sure that the temp was not reaching their claims. The fix that some reviews suggested they sent out and allowed these units to get to the 32 degree temp, I was told the fix was already in my unit as it was the newer unit. I am waiting for a technician to call, not sure why its apparent their units are not reaching the temps that they allege that they do.

Looks Nice / Would Be Great If It Worked Properly

This review is a little early as it's only my second day using it, but it's not good. I bought this to use for a small beer/water fridge. The looks are top notch. It's nice to see what you have without opening the door. It looks more expensive than it is. Setup was easy, but you have to be patient. Once you attach the handle and remove the tape from everywhere you need to wait 6 hours before plugging it in if it was tipped 45 degrees transporting and placing it. I never tilted it, but just to be safe, I waited the six hours. That's normal. The second part is you are instructed to set in on 50 degrees and leave it on that setting for 24 hours. No problem. The capacity is fantastic for can storage, but not so much for 12 oz beer bottles and 16.9 oz water bottles. I took out two shelves and I think I can get a case of beef and about a case of cans. The glass shelves are nice and stable to keep your bottles/cans from tipping. The digital display is attractive and easy to read, although since it's an under-counter height fridge you need to bend down to see it. The matching blue LED interior light is pretty albeit not that useful. It provides a cool blue glow primarily to the top shelf. Now for the bad part. So, after the 24 hours I changed the temp from 50 to 34. I stuck a probe thermometer and a regular digital room thermometer inside to see what the temperature is actually doing, vice what the refrigerator display says and I left it alone for 2 hours. The digital thermostat is supposed to display the actual temp. The temperature dropped from the displayed 50 to 34, great...but the actual temperature inside is 47 degrees according to the oven probe and 46 degrees with the room thermometer. The compressor stopped running as if it reached the required temp. I realize it will take time to go from 50 to 34, but the refrigerator thermostat is supposed to read the actual temp inside. It doesn't and it's highly inaccurate. It's advertised as capable of cooling to 32 so mine may be defective. It's $179 so I didn't expect commercial quality, but really, so far the actual cooling capability of this fridge is pathetic. So disappointing. Pros: - Cheap - Attractive design - Glass shelves - Digital gauge and temperature control Cons: - Slow to cool - Does not cool as advertised - Thermostat is inaccurate - It's not that quiet for such a small fridge
