I just bought this fridge today and I'm just getting it setup. I washed it out when I first got it home and let it sit for the recommended 6 hours before turning it on. I almost didn't buy the unit because of all of the posts about a terrible chemical smell. I plan to use the fridge to dry age beef, so that smell would kill the flavor of the meat. I'm pleased to say that this unit does not smell what so ever. Now I just hope to get it down to 34-35 degrees. According to the specs it should do that just fine. I just wanted to give a positive review regarding the smell and let people know that not all units have that issue. Will post a final review once I've been able to use the unit a bit.

I purchased this in Nov or Dec 2015...the temp on the unit can not be set below 40 ...although the picture posted, on this site, shows a temp of 32...the temp is warmer at the top, which was posted on the unit...I have experienced 50 degree temps, on at least 4 occasions, prior to posting this review...I am currently thinking about purchasing another one because the price can't be beat, but before I do, I am going to inspect other brands/units first...

I like the fridge. It keeps beverages cool, but at a high cost. This fridge is constantly running to keep cool. I have it set a 39 degrees, which is what our main fridge upstairs is set at, and it runs non stop. Sure it shuts off periodically but not for very long. I have felt around the edges to make sure there are no leaks or to make sure there are not creases in the rubber that seal the door. Since purchasing 3 months ago I have noticed an increase in our electric bill. I would rate this a 5 if the unit would be more economical.

A HORRIBLE CHEMICAL SMELL emanates from deep within the bowels of this thing, and you cannot clean it away. We originally purchased this fridge for taking eggs and baked goods to our local farmers market. We quickly ruled it out for that purpose, since everything placed in it for even a short time came out reeking of an AWFUL ODOR. And forget cleaning it. Like many other reviewers, we tried everything to no avail. We thought we could at least make some use of it for storing canned drinks, but NOOOOO....can't even stand to drink from a can that's been in this unit. Take a swig, and right up your nose goes that TERRIBLE STENCH. On the positive side, it seems to cool just fine, and I love the layout and flexibility of the shelves, love the visibility the glass door provides. Unfortunately, though, the STINK renders all of those positives irrelevant. Heed the warnings and save your money. DO NOT BUY!!!

Had high hopes for unit early on. Seemed to maintain temp well, but kept freezing up, with a solid sheet of ice on back wall, at least once a month regardless of how many beverages or adjusted temperatures. Then after 2.5 years, it stopped working altogether. Very disappointing overall.

It is a toxic smell! After only 2-month use, our dining room and kitchen got the strong and disguise smell. We checked any food and drink there, but nothing wrong with them. Eventually, we found the smell was from the bottom around the condensor spot of the refrigerator.

I was reluctant to buy this beverage cooler because of other reviews but I really liked the looks of it so I ordered it online. I couldn't be happier with it! A lot of the reviews mentioned that it wouldn't cool below 40 degrees but mine goes down to 32 degrees. I didn't have any problems with it running hot either. If you follow the directions you won't have any trouble. It states that you should let it sit upright for 6 hours and then run it at 50 degrees for 24 hours. I followed these instructions and had no problems whatsoever. Side note, I love the blue light inside!

Read the reviews, they mostly all state the smell is horrible and it is. I've tried cleaning it, and have put baking soda in it and scrubbed it with baking soda paste. It makes the contents also smell bad, especially plastic bottles. It's a formaldehyde odor and doesn't go away, we've had this for almost two months and have not been able to use it, hopefully returning it this week.

I bought this a few weeks ago from Sams online. Price was good! The temperature is good after about 24 hours. I see about a 5-6 degree temp fluctuation from top shelf to bottom shelf. It did arrive with a ding in the left side. One downside is the plastic smell. I put a an open box of baking soda in the fridge hoping that it will eventually dissipate. I bought this mainly for the beverage capacity.

I bought this last week and followed the setup instructions to a "T". I set it up so that there were three shelves by removing two of the provided shelves. I put water bottles on the top, cans in the middle, and some 12 oz bottles of beer on the bottom. I set the temperature from 50 to 34. I used an instant read probe thermometer which I calibrated. After a half hour or so I was shocked at how fast the digital display inside said it cooled to 34. NOT!!! Inside it was 48 on the top shelf. It didn't get to 34 and the compressor shut off. I left it go another four hours and and took the readings that it has currently (now 8 hours later). Top shelf 41 degrees, middle 36 degrees, and bottom 33. So if you only plan to use the bottom and middle shelf you're all set. The top shelf doesn't appear to be going any lower and the bottom of the cooler now reads 36. I'll check it in the morning, but it seems pretty clear that it's very slow at cooling, inaccurate and doesn't have enough fan forced circulation to cool all shelves equally. I don't know why they didn't do a better job of engineering the cooling of this beverage cooling refrigerator. It's a household model, but it's cooling is weak nonetheless. Adequate (robust) fan forced cooling is all this thing needs and this beverage cooler would be near perfect. It's going back.
