We bought the 12x10 pergola last summer. My husband put it together in about 4 hours. We needed additional help from family to get the pergola in the footings, but was overall and easy process. It held up wonderfully over its first Minnesota winter and fits our space perfectly!

I purchased and installed Beaumont Cedar Pergola on my backyard deck. The pergola has added a whole new dimension to the deck and its usefulness. The cedar wood was high quality and smells great. The instructions were straight forward and pergola pieces marked which really helped during installation. Thanks for putting together a great product and a price that's very affordable. Pros: Great wood, durable hardware, good design. Very solid. Extra hardware. Cons: Plastic caps on top of four set posts leave 1/8" gap so that brace boards are unable to have bolds and nuts be threaded through - too much space. We tried cutting some of the edges and ultimately discarded the caps. Instructions not detailed enough to explain that two of four brace boards have a row of holes along their top (for the lattice) and need to be placed on outside of the two that lack holes. Probably should have had an extra page in the instructions for this or give the boards with holes a separate number. Neutral: Plastic base plates too flimsy for Florida hurricanes. We used steal base plates that worked well. Interior of set post are not solid cedar, but ripped pine 2x4s. However, cedar overlay done very well - looks like solid cedar. Wish the brace boards were 14' long w/o extensions, but shorter boards with extensions seems to work. Really need three people for this construction, not two.

I love the idea of this kit for the DIY’er. It’s like a huge Lincoln Log set. I haven’t ha stud opportunity to actually put it together yet. The transport company ruined a bunch of wood pieces and I’m waiting for the replacements to arrive. This company has excellent customer service and immediately addresses issues with a friendly and understanding representative. They are a model for other businesses. Although I wish my experience was much smoother, you can’t get upset when you are treated so kindly. Awesome!

It adds an entire outdoor living area and so much charm to backyard! We put the plastic sheets over the top so we love to sit outside when it's raining! Highly recommend this pergola!

The Instructions for laying out the footers was really great if your doing individual footers for each post. I assembled the pieces in my garage, and carried them out to the site for install. It took me, working by myself for the most part, less than three days total to get it done. It looks and is sturdy. I priced Pergola's at 4 times the cost that don't look any better than this. Great Value!

Skipping ahead (past a flimsy aluminum pergola that failed in the strong winds), I came across a 12X16 cedar pergola kit that seemed too good to be true. It wasn't! So after spreading out all the fragrant cedar pieces under my carport, I set about learning how to pour cement piers so I could transform an unused portion of my backyard into a relaxing home vacation spot. The instruction book was concise and easy to follow. All of the hardware was included, even with a few spares. The wood pieces were all cut perfectly. Only a couple of the top boards were warped, but by carefully tightening their bolts all the warp disappeared. I could have easily called for replacements, but didn't need to. When I first looked at all the parts and my untidy dirt area, I was skeptical. But carefully going through the instructions I was able to build this beautiful wooden pergola for which I constantly get compliments. As you can see, I have not even built a deck or poured a slab yet, but it is already being enjoyed. Oh yes, and those 4 heavy 400 watt solar panels that started it all now rest neatly on top, providing shade and free power. It's the good life!

We purchased this pergola several months ago and put it up soon after. My husband and I built it and it was not too difficult. The wood and hardware are very sturdy. We did re-stain it before we built it, but we knew we were going to do that when we purchased it. We just wanted a darker color than what it came with. The pergola looks and feels great out by our pool.

We have been looking for a pergola big enough for a large sitting area and dining table and finally found this one. I love that it is wind tested too as our backyard can get wind gusts and I know this pergola is quality and will withstand the elements.

I bought the 16x12 Beaumont Pergola in June and it really completed my backyard. My bottler and 14 year old put it together in a few hours. The directions were self explanatory, which made the installation process smooth. I was worried I got the wrong size, but couldn’t be happier with my choice. My backyard gets quite a bit of sun, so the pergola provided the right amount of shade for us to relax as a family. I would highly highly recommend backyard discovery, if you’re thinking about getting a pergola. I have absolutely no regrets with my purchase.
