I shopped a lot of pergola kits and feel this one was a very good value. Assembly took about 7 hours with myself and my wife. Using the Bilt app on a tablet is highly recommended, since it's much easier when you can zoom in and rotate to see how parts go together. No issues whatsoever with holes lining up. The one problem we faced was getting the two end assemblies upright and connected together with the side rails. It would have been far easier with three people - two to support the end assemblies while the third person installed the side rails on top. The instructions don't give any tips. We managed, but it wasn't pretty! I also question how, once fully assembled, it's possible with two people to mark where the plastic feet should sit, move the pergola to anchor the feet and then put the pergola back in place. The pergola weighs 400 pounds. Our patio is shaded from the prevailing winds by the house, so we'll take our chances and not anchor it.

The pergola is beautiful. The pergola arrived in four boxes. Nothing was damaged, no parts were missing. The setup instructions were easy to follow, Sine the pergola is made from cedar the individual parts are not overly heavy. My wife and I set this up in a day. We couldn’t be happier. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a pergola.

We looked at many different pergolas before deciding to go with this. It is absolutely perfect for our back yard. It is sturdy, and I have no doubt that it will be able to withstand all the weather elements. We did stain it before we put it together as was suggested. Family and friends have asked where they can buy one too! Shipping and delivery was easy, the delivery company that delivered the boxes were very nice and made sure it was away from the road.

We are very happy with this purchase except a couple small items. Instructions were very good. One thing I noticed is that the instructions from the BILT app are a little backwards compared to the printed instructions. One would have a board right side up and the other would have it right side down. Fine, as long as you stick to one set of directions. Everything lined up very nicely except for a couple corbels and most of the 2x2's on top. I would say that only 25% of the 2x2 holes lined up, but not sure if there is a way to improve that. Most of the lumber was surprisingly straight except for the 2x2s, especially the posts!

I bought this over the 2019 Memorial day weekend which included free shipping as part of the special. It was delivered withing 10 business days, in long boxes. Boxes are heavy, need two strong people to lift. I was able to assemble the pergola within four hours. It really adds visual depth to my patio, ties the house in nicely to the yard and provides great shade. I will be adding a canvas piece to the side for additional UV protection but overall I would definitely recommend this product.

This is a nice, solid pergola. Not too hard to assemble. We had a handful of teenaged boys figure out the assembly with a little adult guidance. Took about 4 hours. We had created some concrete pedestals for anchoring in advance which worked well. It looks good and is quite nice for the price. The reasons for only 4 stars are the hardware and shipping, Some of the screws for the top pieces are a bit cheap and strip easily. We ended up replacing some with higher quality ones. For the shipping it took double the expected time and we received no advanced call about the curbside delivery as promised. I just happened to look out the window and see the truck. If I hadn't been home, they would have just left it on the curb unattended. Other than that, it's a solid item and would consider buying again.

We didn’t erect the pergola ourselves due to age and health issues, but our handyman Jake and his two teenage sons did.. they downloaded the app, and with enclosed instructions it went up in now time even on the hottest day in history in our town.. now it is ready for me to get out and get it ready for finishing touches. We really like it and my husband was able to put it together by himself. One thing we were disappointed in was that the 6x6 corner posts were not solid. Not sure if we missed that in the description. But, it looks beautiful and we’ve already had numerous compliments on how great it looks.

My fault on reading the size. I measured our old one from post to post which was 10x10. I ordered a 12x10 thinking that it was measured by post to post and not the overhang. So disappointed can’t return it and looks stupid on my deck. Never would I measure from over hang. Should be wear the footings need to be for the post.
