Instructions were easy to follow. Looks great.

We bought this pergola last May, my husband installed it mostly by himself, I only helped him to carry the heavy posts to the footings. Before purchasing this pergola, I had been shopping for a pergola for years. When I saw this online, I was drawn by its size and quality, think that it will elevate our backyard, and we both just completed our master’s degrees so I bought it as our graduation gift. The delivery took about two weeks to arrive, the crews unloaded the four packages in our covered porch. As recommended by some of the reviews, my husband read the instructions thoroughly, sort through all the pieces and group them. He poured 6 footings that is 16”wide x16” long x18” deep for stability. The installation of the pergola took him about two weekend days. It is absolutely gorgeous. We are very happy with this purchase.

Our home is always changing--inside & out; & every change creates a new "pop":. This time we added a room!! It all started after switching out the last section of old board decking to brick, matching the rest of the existing bricked deck--improving both the look & function of our yard. But, looking out at the expanse of this all brick deck, even with colorful furniture & our usual riot of plants, something was missing. Somehow, we needed to frame that section, a place where we entertain and also shelter a lot of plants. (I'm a gardener). It's Florida; summer sun is merciless on human skin and, more importantly, all of our plants shriveling in our summer heat; they can't hop up and escape into the AC. What we needed was a pretty shelter from direct sun; we needed a pergola! And this baby is a champ. Ordering was easy, the perfect size for our spot, delivery on time; my husband Bill added 2 applications of weather coating, we hired the brick guys to assemble it (we are old :-)). And now we have more than a pergola; it is a ROOM-- partly nestled under our old magnolia, decorated by our happy shaded plants, and furnished by our colorful furniture (I am a painter), the pergola frames it all and creates the perfect space whose form is lovely and which functions to give us what we needed: a solid, sturdy, shade-providing structure. We already have subprojects planned: our copper pelican perches on the top corner; to add even more shade, we are installing lattice panels over the widely spaced roof slats, and we are adding electric outlets for some good old Florida fans, also hanging solar lights to line the top structure. A month had almost gone by and we finally got our money back, I called Backyard Discovery direct and within a few days as promised we got our Pergalo and simply love it! Much better than my expectations one of the boards and shipment got damaged customer service was so excellent to deal with they had my new part here in 2 days my only complaint is I have to put it together by myself which has no influence on the company LOL The instructions to put it together were on point all the hose lined up I would definitely purchase another one if I need it to in the future.... LOVE IT.... I've gotten so many compliments on how beautiful it is from my neighbors which it is has added value to my home

Took wife and I around 9 hours to complete. Pay attention to the pilot holes for the corbels on the posts. Fairly smooth until one already split corbel came apart and had to be glued and finish nailed back together. The 14 top purlins were warped and don't fit together well. Had to redrill a lot of pilot holes as they didn't line up. Otherwise it looks good and much sturdier than our former metal unit.

I’ve owned my house 31 yrs and regret not adding this pergola years ago! It’s created living space in a part of my yard I never used til now. My contractor was skeptical. He planned a day to build the deck and 2 days to build the pergola kit. He arrived at 6AM with his crew of two. When I returned at noon they were almost done!! They said kit was easy and well built. In fact he has ordered kits from you for other projects. He said more economical and time saving than have his crew build from scratch. The deer watched the crew built it and quickly realized they now need to share the yard with us.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased 2 - 20x12 Beaumont Pergolas and placed them side by side on a concrete slab. I was amazed that a structure of this size could be shipped in 4 boxes (each). They are beautifully stained and we have received many compliments from our friends and family. My wife and I waterproofed and assembled them ourselves over a period of a week or so, not being in any rush. They are remarkably sturdy and we chose to add a polycarbonate roof in order to allow year-round use and prolong the life of the structure. We are very happy with our purchase and recommend this product.

Shipment was fast and all the parts were labeled and easy to separate by using the instructions. The color we chose makes it so easy to decorate around and the boards at top make it easy to add lighting to. Having the power source on the side works perfect for electricity as we've plugged fans, phones, and radios up to it numerous times. The structure is very solid and we get so many compliments on it. We also waterproof sealed it to protect it as recommended. Definitely recommend this product!

Started out slow but once I recognized all the parts the installation went quickly and smoothly. I had to drill out the top holes of the angled extensions so the bolts would line up. The extensions are not structural only decorative. Other than that installation was not difficult.
