I’ve owned my house 31 yrs and regret not adding this pergola years ago! It’s created living space in a part of my yard I never used til now. My contractor was skeptical. He planned a day to build the deck and 2 days to build the pergola kit. He arrived at 6AM with his crew of two. When I returned at noon they were almost done!! They said kit was easy and well built. In fact he has ordered kits from you for other projects. He said more economical and time saving than have his crew build from scratch. The deer watched the crew built it and quickly realized they now need to share the yard with us.

Our home is always changing--inside & out; & every change creates a new "pop":. This time we added a room!! It all started after switching out the last section of old board decking to brick, matching the rest of the existing bricked deck--improving both the look & function of our yard. But, looking out at the expanse of this all brick deck, even with colorful furniture & our usual riot of plants, something was missing. Somehow, we needed to frame that section, a place where we entertain and also shelter a lot of plants. (I'm a gardener). It's Florida; summer sun is merciless on human skin and, more importantly, all of our plants shriveling in our summer heat; they can't hop up and escape into the AC. What we needed was a pretty shelter from direct sun; we needed a pergola! And this baby is a champ. Ordering was easy, the perfect size for our spot, delivery on time; my husband Bill added 2 applications of weather coating, we hired the brick guys to assemble it (we are old :-)). And now we have more than a pergola; it is a ROOM-- partly nestled under our old magnolia, decorated by our happy shaded plants, and furnished by our colorful furniture (I am a painter), the pergola frames it all and creates the perfect space whose form is lovely and which functions to give us what we needed: a solid, sturdy, shade-providing structure. We already have subprojects planned: our copper pelican perches on the top corner; to add even more shade, we are installing lattice panels over the widely spaced roof slats, and we are adding electric outlets for some good old Florida fans, also hanging solar lights to line the top structure. It's a good value and quality compared to other brands. Putting it together was not easy, but it was well worth it. It looks great and it feels very solid. I haven't felt the need to attach it to the ground as it is heavy and will not blow over.

I am so happy with my purchase of this pergola. It fits perfect in my space and looks beautiful. We get so many great comments about how pretty it is. We had some issues the installers and Backyard Discovery made it right. I highly recommended anyone that wants a pergola get one from Backyard Discovery. I just ordered the patio cooler to go with it.

Took wife and I around 9 hours to complete. Pay attention to the pilot holes for the corbels on the posts. Fairly smooth until one already split corbel came apart and had to be glued and finish nailed back together. The 14 top purlins were warped and don't fit together well. Had to redrill a lot of pilot holes as they didn't line up. Otherwise it looks good and much sturdier than our former metal unit.

It adds an entire outdoor living area and so much charm to backyard! We put the plastic sheets over the top so we love to sit outside when it's raining! Highly recommend this pergola!

Backyard Discovery must have made improvements to the QA of this product because mine fit together perfectly! The most time consuming part was re-staining it to fit the look I was going for, but it was well worth it. I was able to set it up over the course of an afternoon and couldn't be happier with the end result. At this price point and the ease of setup, I wouldn't recommend any other pergola.

Shipment was fast and all the parts were labeled and easy to separate by using the instructions. The color we chose makes it so easy to decorate around and the boards at top make it easy to add lighting to. Having the power source on the side works perfect for electricity as we've plugged fans, phones, and radios up to it numerous times. The structure is very solid and we get so many compliments on it. We also waterproof sealed it to protect it as recommended. Definitely recommend this product!

I really like the way it looks. The new mods of a seat and eating bar on the opposite side have made this product even better. It doesn't provide much shade, so I put 2 x 4's in between the roof 2 x 2's and it gives us shade from the hit Texas sun. X
