actually better than watching a YouTube video. was and easy build but it definitely takes at least two people three preferable. very impressed by the way the instructions were given. pay close attention to which way the board's Mount lining your holes up. highly recommend

We love our pergola and will enjoy more time spent under it when the weather cools off some. The kit was easy to assemble. It took my son and grandson about 6 hours to put it together for us, that's counting the breaks for being in the sun all the time while putting it together. The directions were easy to follow and even came with a few extra screws and bolts which was very helpful but not needed. We think it adds a lot of character to our yard and we get a lot of compliments from family and friends.

This is a really nice pergola at a good price. The wood is quality, the hardware seems durable. The installation was ok, difficult in some spots but easily doable. I water sealed all of the wood before installation and let it dry for a couple weeks on the advice of other reviews I read. Make sure to keep checking for square and level. Overall it really makes a big difference on my otherwise plain looking patio.

We have been very impressed so far with our pergola. We hired a crew to put it up, and it took them several hours, but the results are beautiful. They put up pergolas all the time, and they said this one was particularly well made. It looks gorgeous and completely meets our needs.

After 12 days our Beaumont Pergola is finished. We treated each piece and let it dry which took 2 to 3 days. Then we spent almost a week just getting foundation blocks and anchors in place. We choose to purchase concrete anchor blocks like the type you use under a porch. These are heavy and we had to move existing patio blocks and dig enough earth to place each one at precisely level. Then we had to square everything and check again and again to make sure everything lined up. The most difficult part was anchoring the plastic blocks to the concrete. I used my impact driver with a conversion tool that accepted a concrete bit. Better than drilling with a regular cordless drill but not much. The assembly of the actual pergola was super easy, once the foundation was in place. We are experimenting with a shade cloth to block out most of the afternoon sun. Sorry, but it looks better without the shade cloth and ladder in the background. I am thinking we won't use the black plastic power box because it just clashes with the beautiful finished product. This is our second kit from Backyard Discovery and we are happy with how easy it all goes together. After building the larger 11 x 13 greenhouse this past Spring, this one was almost too easy. These are just the thing for a retired guy who used to love to play with Erector Sets as a kid.

this instructional packet was spot on. I like the 3D dimensions. being able to zoom in and out was very helpful. wish there was a finished product picture at the beginning so you could see all the dimensions and the sequence steps would make sense.

Purchased a month ago. After waiting for a landscape project to be completed and applying a protective sealant I installed it a couple days ago. I am 59 yrs old and was able to install in myself. The quality is on par with the cost of the product. I am a woodworker and could have made this myself. Saved a lot of time and money.

We spent quite some time searching for something that truly reflected our taste, yet would stand the test of time. When we finally found it, my husband assembled it with ease (with a little help from our sons-in-law). He finished it with the recommended lacquer, and the result is simply beautiful—better than I had imagined. He placed it thoughtfully where our two wisteria plants grow, training them to climb and frame the structure. It has created a stunning, peaceful shaded retreat, reminiscent of the Tuscan countryside—right here in NYC. We absolutely love it and look forward to enjoying it for many years to come.

Bought a month ago. We love our new pergola!

We recently purchased this and it was installed on April 16, 2026. This is cheap cedar and easily splits. I wanted to hang curtains and it cracked. The main columns sound hollow and cheap. I would not have purchased this if I would have known it was like this. Wasted way too much money on such a product that falls apart and cracks. Do not recommend!
